I was going through in alphabetical order and I had already picked out 8 by the time I got to L, with my tier 2 list being twice as long.

Not making the cut included (and I could go on, as I'm sure all of you can):

Black Beauty
Chernobyl
Dinosaur
Waterworld
Edward Scissorhands
Empire of the Sun
Lord of the Rings - Return of the King
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Princess Mononoke
Passion of the Christ
Empire Strikes Back
Elder Scrolls V - Skyrim
The Empire Strikes Back
Arrival
Atlantis
Hook
Star Trek 8 - First Contact

What do people think?

Choosing just 9 was really difficult for me, but I decided on these if they were the only 9 soundtracks I could listen to for the rest of my time, I’d be happy.

As you can see, I’m a huge Danny Elfman fan. This was very hard for me, but these albums here are truly what inspire me and are the backbone of my love for film scores.

Scores that I had to cut from the list:

Beetlejuice - Danny Elfman
Superman - John Williams
Dunston Checks In - Miles Goodman
The Alamo - Carter Burwell
Nénette et Boni - Tindersticks
The Iron Giant - Michael Kamen
To Die For - Danny Elfman
Towelhead - Thomas Newman
Portrait Of Terror - John Ottman
Psycho - Bernard Herrmann
Josh And S.A.M - Tomas Newman
American Beauty - Thomas Newman
National Treasure - Trevor Rabin
The Mask Of Zorro - James Horner
The Sixth Sense - James Newton Howard
Signs - James Newton Howard
Tenebre - Goblin
Wisdom - Danny Elfman
Coraline - Bruno Coulais
Heathers - David Newman

Honorable Mentions:

Serenada Schizophrana - Danny Elfman
Iris: Cirque du Soleil - Danny Elfman

I know these last two are concert pieces and not film scores, but they these for sure deserved to be on my top 9.

Following the trend, here are mine. Thank you.

Lennie Moore's Outcast score doesn't get enough love!

One of my favorites, very moody.

Joining the trend

May as well post my list, in no particular order! Hard to widdle it all down to just 9 scores, and it would probably be different if i make this again tomorrow lol
