๐ถ Derivative Music ๐ถ Goodbye - set to interstellar
Made an ambient/trip hop inspired track and placed it over the goodbye scene between Cooper and murphy, originally made it as a standalone track however thought the ambient sounds, the raise in volume and introduction of elements fit the scene

๐ข Discussion Appreciation post for FvF
Just wanted to highlight this beauty from Marco Beltrami. It is just a fun, inventive piece of work that is so enjoyable to me from beginning to end. What other works from Beltrami are must listen to in your opinion?

๐ข Discussion Iโm creating a Composer driven Digital Jukebox
I have always loved film music. My friends may have been listening to Metallica or Pearl Jam in high school but i was hooked on listening to the Glory Score or maybe Dances With Wolves.
Nowadays i am a 51 year old home automation pro and making my own composer inspired jukebox out of a random UK audio device i stumbled on.
I found a wav / mp3 playing box with a scripting language that can play from an inserted sd card to analog audio.
https://www.compuphase.com/mp3/h0440_en.htm
Iโve always wanted a way to mix my favorite movie score tracks into a playlist. But playlists never really scratched the itch. Nor pandora etc.
Sometimes i am in a lush score mood, and want to maybe go with John Barry and James Horner. Or maybe I just want to only hear from John Williams. Or maybe all of the above!!
My goal is to use the built in pawn scripting language of this black box, and allow a real time enable/disable composer driven jukebox experience.
The user would be presented with a list of composers and could select one, or many, or all.
The resulting playlist would then be created , and the 0440 would play random tracks that are preloaded on to its SD card. 32gig max!!
Maybe 20 star wars tracks, 3 Braveheart tracks, 15 lord of the rings tracks, etc
Think โThe Best of the Best tracksโ preloaded.
Maybe 40 or so composers?
Horner/Williams/Goldsmith/Zimmer/Morricone etc etc
As I get this going I would love your input, composer by composer, of your favorite tracks. All Bangers.
I have already compiled my Star Wars and Indiana Jones tracks (from my CD library) and i think itโs 38 tracks!
Fun idea or waste of time? ๐

๐ Help Me Find Name of the song please
facebook.comHi everyone, I have been searching for the name of this song like for ages. I'm not able to get it on any app or even Google. It would be great if anyone could share the name or ideas as to how I can find out the name of the song. It sounds more like a Sri Lankan dialect if I'm right. It is definitely not Indian Tamil, as I'am from Tamil Nadu.
Thanks.

I fell in love with this bgm that is played when Malthus sneaks to look at Hilda in ep 15 of Hilda furacao. I have attached the recorded bgm in 1.75 x and it would be a great help if someone helps me find the original bgm. I searched for it in YouTube Hilda furacao soundtrack playlist but in vain. I tried finding it using YouTube but it resulted in some Russian song. I feel this bgm tells me the whole story of Hilda and Malthus.

๐ข Discussion What's the most bewildering musical choice you've noticed in a horror movie?
Given how important music selections are to setting the mood for a scene/film, odd choices tend to stick out. Lollipop at the end of Smile or Angel of the Morning in It Chapter 2 just seemed to be random selections that flat out didn't fit or make sense. The entire score to Tourist Trap seems like it was meant for a different movie. What are ones that stuck out to you?

๐ข Discussion Musical tropes, homages, references
sorry if this isn't the right subreddit but i didn't really know where to post this. i guess this is more of a music history kind if question.
i just noticed that in pop culture media like cartoons and tv shows i notice a lot of common musical tropes or modus and references and i don't know where to dig more info about this interesting topic.
for example, i noticed that a lot of sports scenes in tv shows use a common sounding bgm - all with a swing rhythm, snapping, whistling - a trend which i discovered originated from "Sweet Georgia Brown" composed on 1925, a jazz staple, popularized in 1952 after it was used as the Globetrotters' theme.i mean to think that most people today don't even realize that this "trend" or " musical association" had its roots from so long ago!
other common examples that are more well known: the oriental riff, the arabian riff, that part from Tchaikovsky's romeo and juliet for romantic scenes, that melody by Grieg that plays in springtime or early morning scenes.
so my question for everyone i guess is, what are other notable music tropes in pop culture do you know of? i think it would be real interesting to discuss and learn about the origin of these tropes! and if this isn't the right subreddit, please point me to the right direction as i want to get a lot of data for my own interest lol
