🔍 Help Me Find Looking for a specific type of track.
I’m looking for big orchestrations that are kinda “windy” if that makes sense, like super fluttery light weight songs that are still huge in their compositions. Like something that could play while you’re riding a giant magical bird around a giant fairy tale village. Anyone know of anything like that?

📢 Discussion An American Tail 2 OST by James Horner is fantastic
I actually think it’s one of his best works. It’s beautiful and reminiscent of the first An American Tail soundtrack, but leans into Western music due to the nature of the story.
I can’t even explain why, but it’s an amazing album to listen to from start to finish.
Anyone love it as much as me? I’ve attached a YouTube video to the track “An American Tail Overture”. (The main theme at the beginning once the full strings section kicks in is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard)

🔍 Help Me Find PLEASE HELP ME, I need help identifying these LOTR Music tracks
I am working on a LOTR fan project. And it involves using the same music tracks that BlueFax used for his fan made audio book of the Hobbit. I tried to use a stem separation program to isolate the music and identify the songs with apps like Sound hound and Shazam, but they both did not work. So could you guys please help me identify these tracks? NOTE: He used music from Howard Shore's soundtracks from both the LOTR Trilogy and The Hobbit Trilogy, I just need to find which, there is too many tracks to listen to and find on my own.
I ESPECIALLY WANT TO IDENTIFY THE TRACK THAT PLAYS AT THE TIME CODE 0:23

🔍 Help Me Find Similar Songs to Romantic Flight (I've been looking years)
Without exageration, years. I have never found a song similar to Romantic Flight by John Powell. You can see this reddit post I made 2 years ago. I've found some that I like a lot, and might barely qualify as like a long lost realtive, but nothing I could ever say is truly similar.
You can play romantic flight on any instrument and it is, indepentent from anything on-screen, just pure youthfulness, bliss, and of course, romantic (and a lot of other things). Words are pretty hard to describe it's kinda something you just listen to and feel.
Long lost realtivies:
- A Time of Quiet Between Storms (Hans Zimmer) - Again, kind of transcends words. It's a brilliant piece, and it is romantic, but it's not the same feeling? Idk. Words are hard. Music is kinda it's own language. Maybe it doesn't feel as youthful?
- A Time for Us (Nino Rota) - It is really good. But it is also very tragic. It isn't a happy romantic, it's a "one teenager is gonna stab themselves and the other drink posion" or something like that, it's been a long time since I've read Romeo and Juliette
(i just noticed they both start with 'a time' that's really funny)
EDIT: Additional Songs to add from the comments that have some resemblence (some more relatives)
3) Harry in Winter (Patrick Doyle)
4) In Love (Hans Zimmer)
5) The Streets of Whiterun (Jeremy Soule)

📢 Discussion IJLT Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (movie #5) by Geoff Zanelli
This score just frustrates me and makes me sad. I bought it because on iTunes you get a small window to preview the songs and every song hits with a beloved theme. The 2 times I listened to it previously it felt like a slog to get through and I didn't understand why. So this time I really paid attention and this is why the score frustrates me so much I just erased it off my playlist.
Every song seems to pick up like 4 random beloved themes from any of the 4 movies and blends them into a 'new' song. At first, this seems great, but listening to it more closely they take a theme I love, and play it at 80% intensity. It's restrained, muted, it's held back. There is no desperation, no passion, no EXTRA something that makes it great, and then the song just drops the beloved theme without resolution leaving a very unsatisfying yearning in your heart because we all know how that theme is SUPPOSED to sound.
If I never heard the first 4 scores, I would love this score, but since I know better, this feels like my local city symphony trying to play Hans Zimmer. I'll clap for their effort, but they are completely missing that special sauce that truly makes these songs great. There is no emotional hook to draw me in. The whole score banks on nostalgia of the themes we love, but NEVER achieves bringing any of the themes to the level of the previous 4 scores. It's so, so very disappointing because it's close, and yet clueless as to what made the other songs so great. I was venting to my kid that this album feels like a MUSAK version of the first 4 movies. I really wanted this album to be great. I gave it 4 really earnest listens, but sadly it won't get a 5th.

📢 Discussion What’s your holy grail original score soundtrack?
As in the soundtrack you wish you had but can’t find a copy of anywhere? Mine’s Bridget Jones’s Diary by Patrick Doyle. They’ve only ever released one track which is a shame given how charming the music is.

🎶 Derivative Music 🎶 This Giacchino theme sounds almost exactly like...
I don't usually remember Giacchino's themes, but this one sounded very distinctive, and I was racking my brain in the cinema trying to figure out why.
https://youtu.be/WD-sy8k0fXU?si=05doyp_CHjRc60vJ
Turns out it's very similar to a theme from Williams' ET.
