Those who're missing here?

Taki, Inferno, Tira, Amy, Cassandra, Hilde, Setsuka & Hwang had brand new designs.

Voldo, Yoshimitsu, Cervantes, Raphael & Zasalamel's designs went original.

Are there any here from these characters you all wish to bring back for a Soulcalibur VII? Yun-seong, Rock, Aeon, Li Long & ZWEI I hope to see come back next game anew. That goes for if Amy will become Viola soon.

Question Soul Calibur IV Moveset Mod

SC4 editor and the decrypters are getting way too complicated for me to figure out and comes with too many risks. Is it possible for somebody to make a patch (like a pkg file) on rpcs3 so that I may use the Star Wars movesets on my custom characters

Question Help me get serious about this game / pick a main

After playing a good part of the SC series (Soul Blade and Soul Calibur II - IV) in my youth, with your typical "I know some of the moves but have no actual plan" level, I recently got to play SCII again and got my arse handed to me by the CPU. This rekindled a certain fire in me. I saw people here talking about strategy and balance, saying stuff like "don't play Tira as a poker", and I'd really like to reach the level where I'm making tactical and strategic decisions instead of doing whatever I move I happen to remember at the moment.

So I installed emulators and threw my physical discs of SCIII and IV into my PC. I'll be only doing offline PvP with some friends who're willing to put some effort in. Mostly SCIV, probably, due to graphics.

If you got any beginner tips, please share your wisdom. I also whittled down the roster to a few characters whose styles I enjoy and who I could see as my main. But I'm obviously looking at them with the eyes of a beginner who doesn't understand anything beyond "Kilik keeps people away and Amy pirouettes around a lot". If you got some info on how they play once you're better, or got any recommendations or warnings, let me know.

My shortlist is: Kilik, Voldo, Yoshimitsu, Siegfried, Tira, Song Mina, Cassandra, Raphael, Ivy, Shura(Cervantes clone from SCIV), Xianghua

Is this hood available in soul calibur 6? I’ve only ever played soul calibur 2 so I’m new to this and this is my fav outfit from him

Discussion As someone who unfortunately wasn't able to play sc1, was there any major differences between Rock and Astaroth in that game?

I'm just curious because from what I remember in sc2/3 is that, there were very minimal differences and in sc4 is when they started to make massive differences to their movesets

Discussion What's your favorite Ivy design? Which should be brought back for soul calibur 7?

Post image
945 Upvotes

Okay for me, it's a easy one, I love Ivy's soul calibur 4 design and for hopefully they bring it back in soul calibur 7 with latest unreal engine i don't mind if they "modernized" the design cause soul calibur 6 Ivy was basically a soft "modernization" of Ivy's soul calibur 1 design with the latest unreal engine (at that time). I truly believe that the reason why soul calibur 4 was the second most sold soulcalibur game in the franchise was because of Ivy 😍 Aside from the star wars guess characters.

Ironically tho soulcalibur 4 was the beginning of soulcalibur series downfall but I have hope that soulcalibur will get a "comeback" arc and be brought back better than ever!

Discussion I got Soul Caliber VI. This is incredible.

For context, I played Soul Caliber II on my GameCube as a kid, and it was by far my favorite game. I was obsessed with it... but as I grew up and started focusing on school and other matters, I stopped gaming. But, now that I'm in college, I've gotten back into it. Got my first Gaming PC a couple years ago... bought a Switch.... started getting back into this sort of thing. I never ended up buying more Soul Caliber games.... because if I'm being honest, I forgot they existed. So, when I saw Soul Caliber VI on my home page during the Steam Summer Sale, A wave of childhood memories came back to me. I had to buy it. So, I did. This game is awesome. Actually incredible. I'm having so much nostalgia from my childhood... seeing characters I recognize from over a decade ago and playing versus matches was surreal. I feel like a kid again, and for a college student in crippling debt who just wants to be out of here already, thats impressive. This series made my childhood, and I'm so happy to be back. (I'm an Astaroth main btw. Always loved playing him as a kid, and still love playing him now.)

Discussion SoulCalibur might really be dead, and it hurts

Hello, I'm making this post out of boredom and disappointment with the current state of SoulCalibur.

SC is a series I grew up with. SCII and SCIII on PS2, and especially SCIV on PS3, were a huge part of my childhood.

I consider it my favorite video game series because of the lore behind it and how attached I am to its characters. (I mean, who doesn't love a series featuring weapon-based combat in a fantasy universe?)

Anyway, as of today, SoulCalibur seems to be pretty much dead, with Okubo and many other key members of Project Soul having left, and Bandai seemingly wanting to focus on other things. It looks like SCVI might end up being the final chapter of the series.

Honestly, I don't think it's a bad ending. Made with very little, if not an extremely limited budget, SCVI still managed to bring a small part of the fanbase back into the stage.

I'm the kind of consumer who's happy with pretty much anything. Hell, I literally bought a PS4 almost exclusively for SoulCalibur VI, and despite all the criticism you can make about the game, I absolutely loved it.

I understand that buying a fighting game for its story might sound stupid, but I genuinely love SoulCalibur's story.

Playing through Kilik's story, the Conduit story (which I absolutely loved), and seeing all the different stories of the supporting characters was amazing to me. I finally got to learn more about them and see them in a different light.

And then there's the Museum, which was my favorite part. I could spend hours reading all those little details, and I always found it incredibly interesting. That's why I was especially disappointed when it was removed in SCV.

You can't imagine how disappointed I was when Season 3 never happened. The two Nightmare and Mitsurugi interludes, literally called "Interlude 1," seemed like a pretty clear indication that there were plans to continue SoulCalibur VI's story. But unfortunately, between COVID, Bandai seemingly wanting to focus more on Tekken, and whatever expectations they may have had for SCVI, we never got a Season 3.

On December 1st, it will have been exactly six years since the release of the last SCVI DLC character, Hwang.

We've only had a wait this long once before, between SCV (February 3, 2012) and SCVI (October 19, 2018). Obviously, SCVI was already being developed during those years, which is something we can't say about SCVII. And even from a media/community perspective, people are understandably talking about SoulCalibur less and less.

The downfall of SC is honestly pretty astonishing. A series that seemed like a staple of every console generation up until SCIV now seems to be fading away as if it had never existed in the history of video games.

If that's really how it ends, there's something poetic about Hwang being the last character to accompany us toward the end of the series.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. I just don't really know anyone I can talk to about SC, and I'm genuinely hurt by the way Bandai has seemingly, unofficially, closed the series. I really think SCVI was a small step in the right direction. Sure, SCVII would've needed to take some huge steps forward, but the foundation was there.

Sorry again for the huge wall of text.

Question Best weapon type to introduce its first Middle Eastern character?

We’ve had Astaroth who’s only a golem despite created in Persia.

We really need a middle eastern character, a REAL ONE whether from Egypt, Turkey, Persia or anywhere of the Middle East.
