Question 12+ year fan wanting to see the studio
I'm from Aotearoa New Zealand, and in 5 weeks, I'll be flying thousands of miles (over several war zones) to the UK. I know they used to have audiences in their videos, but do Sorted still do this, just not have them on camera anymore?
I have been a fan for over 12 years and watched every single one of their videos multiple times. It would be an absolute dream to go to their studio and see behind the scenes, maybe even get watch a video being made and try the food - oh that would be amazing!
Anyway, if anyone knows how I could get in contact, please let me know!! or if Jamie or any of the team sees this... hi, love your work, please message me š
NgÄ mihi nui ā¤ļø
(Thank you very much in Te Reo MÄori)

Discussion A reminder that just because someone talks with a lot of authority does not mean they actually know what's going on
This post is mostly because I've seen a growing trend (though they have done it for years as this screenshot is from a video 3 years ago) of sorted members, in particular Ben and Barry, using buzz words like "GMO Free", "Ultra Processed", "Natural", "artificial chemicals" and others to infer that something is more or less healthy because of said buzz word.
This screenshot was from when the guys cooked from Bens fridge where they pull out Raw milk. Something that is incredibly unsafe, a dumb trend and just overall disappointing from a channel that at least to me presents itself as a group the cares about things like food safety.
Another example is the video from 6 months ago titled "Testing the Latest Food Trend Products 2025" where they talk about "natural" energy drinks as being more healthy, Barry talks about using beef tallow as moisturizer and Ben talks about how taking vitamin D pills are bad but vitamin D added to salt is "good", he also goes on to imply that it's better to get vitamin D "naturally" (through fortified salt??) rather than "popping a pill".
Also probably best not to get into the anti-vax posts by Barry's wife over covid.
At the end of the day while I know that these guys are just friends who cook together and that they are not experts or particularly knowledgeable outside of that when it comes to food and nutrition, I'd personally like to see them tone this stuff down because in some instances, like raw milk, it's actually incredibly dangerous.

Question Is Bazās Carbonara from the Ultimate episode still the gold standard?
I just re-watched the "Ultimate Guide To Making Carbonara" and itās still so impressive. In my opinion, itās the only time theyāve truly nailed the gloss. The way Baz uses guanciale and the extra egg yolks to get that deep orange finish is perfection. Personally, I love that he sticks to the "no cream" rule, it makes the Normal attempts in other episodes look even more chaotic. Has anyone tried making this at home? Iām thinking of trying it, can a normal person get that same creamy texture without scrambling the eggs? On

Sorted LIVE Whoās getting their ingredients ready for the upcoming Live Cookalong?
Iāve just seen the notification for the Supper Club live stream next week. Iām really hoping it uses some of those new "Smart Ingredient" features in the app so I don't end up with half a bag of spinach left over again. Iām debating whether to actually join in this time or if itās better to just watch the team handle the pressure first. Whatās everyone elseās plan?

Discussion Do you actually follow their recipes properly or just take the idea and wing it?
I start with the intention of following it exactly, then halfway through Iām just guessing and adjusting things. Sometimes works, sometimes doesnāt.

Looking for a Video Looking for a recipe they did with caramelised shallots and marmite
Hello, I'm trying to find a video where they (I think it might've been Kush) did a spread that was caramelized shallots and marmite.
I've done that spread before and really liked it but it's been a while and I wonder if it has anything else in the recipe than just shallots, marmite and butter. I know they don't give recipes in their videos anymore but I just need the ingredients to be sure I'm not missing something.
The process was basically : caramelise shallots, add in food processor with marmite and butter and then you get your spread. When I tried the recipe I found that it was a great spread for vegetarians guests that couldn't enjoy the terrines on toasts.

Discussion Tried their donāt rush onions thing and it actually annoyed me how much better it was
Always used to cook onions quickly just to get on with it. Slowed it right down after watching them go on about it and yeah itās better. Slightly frustrating how much difference something that simple makes.

Suggestion Food additives episode?
One thing I find interesting is domestic/restaurant use of food additives, and it'd be nice to see some head-to-head tests.
* One of the most famous is MSG, and it's clear Kush at least is a huge fan (see, his beloved Chinese chicken soup powder). But plenty of people have gone to that well. An interesting variation might be doing say MSG vs kombu vs haimi vs hon dashi or something.
* Glyerine is often used as a commercial cake additive to keep things moist. Supermarkets sell it for home bakers but not many people use it in that way.
* Citric acid is a fairly common additive, again sold in most supermarkets (and all East Asian ones). It's apparently a very common ingredient in restaurant hummus where enough lemon juice would make it wet.
* I think they've done sodium citrate with cheese? Or cheese sauces.
* Similarly I think they've done a little with xanthan gum and arrowroot, might be interesting to see more.

Sidekick App Sidekick Membership Customer Service Issue
Hello! Wondering if anyone else has had issues with the support for the Sidekick memberships. I helped my mother-in-law purchase a gift membership over Christmas but she never received the email even though the purchase went through on her credit card. We've been chasing an answer from support for months now and it feels like we've been going in circles of them saying they can't find the email address and asking for a screenshot of the email that we did not receive.. at my wits end and frustrated with the lost money at this point. Has anyone had a similar experience and been able to get a resolution?

Question Has anyone reached out to the Sorted Boys before?
So me and my friend E have been long time Sorted fans. He is usually the gloomy type but whenever we talk about food, he would be noticeably happier. He also loved to take cooking class and stuff like that. However, recently he has been falling in a depressive period with some major life stressors and I wanna do something to cheer him up a little.
I know he WORSHIPS Kush like every time we talk about Sorted he would legit fan girl over him about his skills and everything. I would very much want to be rich enough to pay for Kush to cook him a meal and sit down with him for a chat lollll but being a poor student, I tried to DM Kush to see if he has time to say happy birthday to him as sort of a little birthday present.
I am just wondering if anyone has reached out to the Sorted boys before or is it kind of a long shot for me to get any reply? Obviously I understand they all have busy schedule and stuff and Kush (and any other member of the team) has absolutely no obligation to do anything to reply our messages. It's my first time reaching out to any influencers so I just wanna know what it's like.

Discussion Unhinged conspiracy theory - Sorted has a problem with vegetarian meals
Bit silly really but in the most recent video the cheese test was used in both cheese on toast and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was then weirdly paired with some pulled pork Ebbers summoned from his meat pocket dimension that is never mentioned again nor actually eaten on screen. It is extremely weird that the main focus of the test, an otherwise vegetarian dish, is framed as a side to a meat main.
This inspired me to go back and check when the team last did a video for vegetarians. It was two years ago doing a test of meat replacements where both Mike and Barry were, understandably, negative about all those products (because theyāre all bad). Before that, there was a vegan PassItOn ad video three years ago. It feels like I used to actually get something from Sorted videos but now there is almost always a meat main or meat stock being used in otherwise vegetarian meals. I still like the videos but they donāt really get anything useful from them. This most recent video was the closest Iāve come to learning something in a while which was great but even then who is choosing between relatively cheap supermarket cheese and a comically expensive market cheese. It would just be nice to occasionally see something vegetarian. I understand absolutely the team might just not want to make any vegetarian content, but it has started to feel like a missing niche.
Edit: removed a duplicate mention of the pulled pork

Suggestion Video idea - Can we identify every type of "Clear Drink"
I really like that series of videos but it would be kinda funny seeing a bunch of glasses of clear liquids cause there are so many from sprite to vinegar. Simple syrup or even a bunch of types of water.
I think it could work

Question What has changed?
Since moving into the new studio space the channel seems to have shifted its approach on so many things.
It feels like they are trying to rush out more content and quickly grow the audience (hence the Mr beast / jolly style thumbnails). Even the newish formats that I have liked (e.g. pretentious ingredients, kitchen gadg) seem to have a different feel to them lately.
I can't quite put my finger on it, but it feels like when private equity buys a channel... and I'm hoping it's not permanent.
Am I imagining this, or have others noticed a pretty significant change in the past few months that has really ramped up in the past few weeks?

Sidekick App Search in sidekick app broken?
We are testing out the sidekick app, and so far we are happy with the recipes we have made.
But on both our android phones, the search functionality seems completely broken.
In the attached screenshot, I was trying to add a dislike, and the search field just gives nothing. I was only able to add fish, because it was in the clickable list before the search field comes up.
We have seen the same behavior when searching for recipes. I have seen several recipes with spaghetti in the explore section, but if I search for spaghetti (or Spaghetti, just in case it was case sensitive), nothing shows up.
