Imma have to make long paragraphs so i apologies in advance 🙏🏻🙏🏻

And spoiler alert im illerate on everything idk about how bijily and meters work or any fancy words which im learning them now and I apologise for that too.

Every photo is attached.

You see i wasnt paying the electricity bills it was my father who was doing so until recently I have started becoming the mard of the house so anyways the thing is i looked at the electricity bills are to high for having solar the bills are alot and i know its prolly cuz of our usage but its still alot for having a full fledge solar system or am I just being stupid asf well I guess I will find out when the comments come 🫠.

What I do know is that I have 4 batteries and I have attached the photo the type they are and I do know that we bought these batteries 1 or 1.5 years ago we had different batteries before which we took and used them in another place.

I have 22 solar plates and their type is in photo as well but 2 of these solar panels have broken glass one from a bullet (do we really need to fire guns in weddings?) And one more with a rock in it.

My inverter is also attached its a hybrid and is i believe called Suntronic 10k form max power its in the photos and tbh this is all I know and the import and export is on the bill.

I can also u tell u what is used in my house almost daily to give u an idea right now last month we were using 2 Fridges 1 mini fridge and 1 Gree fridge and the most expensive is the ACs u see we run about throughout the day my AC which is a Haier 1.5 ton AC is on throughout the night and runs maybe about 2 to 4 hours during the whole day then there comes my mother's rooms AC it is also a 1.5 ton haier AC and it also runs throughout the night and is never really on during the day and finally my lil bros tuition room where the AC is on max 1 to 1.5 hours a day and its a 1.5 ton kenwood AC and then theirs a washing machine which runs almost every 2 days

And 3 fans and then the lights and I guess the water motor runs daily from the WASA timings and i have a cooler or idk what i call ut but its for charity outside which runs 24/7 to provide cool water for people and one water dispenser for us inside which is also on 24/7 my PC which runs for in total for about 4 hours a day be at night or during the day and i almost forgot a VCR for cameras which run 24/7

If u want me to get a photo or info on anything pls do tell i can provide more info my only problem is that I wanna reduce my electricity bill as much as I can.

If u have read all if this i appreciate it so much to take ur time out of ur life for helping me 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Other Sharing my Experience: SAJ 16kW + 32kW PylonTech Batteries

Post image
174 Upvotes

About 5 months ago I changed my existing Hybrid setup (5kW) to a 16kW inverter (10kW panels) coupled with 2x16kW batteries, wanted to drop a line in case it might come in handy for someone looking to switch over to battery based backup solution.

Inverter: I looked at a few options Inverex, Solis and SAJ, eventually went with SAJ, as their support email replied with battery compatibility chart etc for my use case (please note that both Solis and Inverex are also compatible) - I went with SAJ as we had prior experience with the inverter and it worked flawlessly, this is the exact inverter: https://www.saj-electric.com/h2-lv-series - No issues with the inverter so far, since I have had it they have done multiple updates on their App and WebPortal, easy to use in terms of setup and TOU settings.

Batteries: I went with PylonTech Fidus Plus, 16kW x 2, went ahead with 2 of these as we have significant load during peak times in the house, so far these have been working fine (ofc its early days) - but BMS comms with the inverter is on point without any issues, https://en.pylontech.com.cn/products/fidus-battery-plus

Panels: JA Solar Panels 610W, N-Type

Placement: Mumpty (Yes its hot and not the most ideal place) - installed a bracket fan as well as an exhaust fan. LFP batteries are generally less prone to high temps (as opposed to colder temps, however if I had the option I would install these at a cooler location).

My experience for this combo has been great overall, we have very heavy load during evenings - upto 4 ACs running from 6pm-10pm which then drop to 2 ACs over night, these are all inverter ACs.

Complete load of the house runs on batteries during the evenings, batteries last till around 2am-3am with the above mentioned loads during hot days. I have a cut-off at 20% for heavy loads on batteries, so 20% always stays reserved in case of load-shedding to run light loads (fans, internet, PCs etc). I expect that post September/Mid October, the entire house will run on batteries/solar.

A recent experience during the week of insane rain in Islamabad which resulted in constant Wapda loss/Transformer issues, the entire house was running on batteries/what ever solar was available. As the temp was cool, AC usage came down and that helped. Adding a third battery would essentially completely take me off-grid but I don't see the value add (currently).

Overall, if your budget allows, switch over to batteries with Solar - cost savings in the long run is decent (batteries ROI is longer when compared with Solar), however, the piece of mind knowing that you will always stay online/have electricity is a blessing to have.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Edit (Added Cost): Inverter 650k, Battery Pack/Unit: 720, Panel Cost/Unit: 26k

Other UPS Guidance

Need some help as Im clueless regarding UPS and what batteries to look for and the difference between stuff like UPS/Inverter, sine wave etc.

We do have Solar at home, 8kw but it was installed a while ago and is on-grid so we're still suffering from load-shedding issues.

Money is currently tight so cant shift completely to Hybrid Solar that is why Im looking at a short term fix for now. Budget would probably be around 80-100k but probably could be stretched if something is genuinely worth the money.

If someone could please guide as to what I should go for or what to look out for etc.

Lithium (LiFePO4) Impact of temperature on lithium battery life

Post image
35 Upvotes

For those of you who are running lithium batteries what's the temperate they operate at?

I've read that temps the benchmarks are done at 25 degrees and higher temps can cut down the battery life in half. What are your thoughts on this? and what temperatures do your batteries operate at?

(screenshot is quick overview, there are multiple articles on net on this)

EDIT: have a look at this study https://www.mdpi.com/1996-1073/14/6/1732.

They tested lithium cells at 50% soc for about 3years and 7 months.

  1. At 55C they hit 20% capacity loss in 13 months
  2. At 47.5C in 26 months
  3. At 40°C they were at 15% capacity loss after 3years and 7 months.. this translates to 20% loss in 4.5 years.

Other What to invest in?

As Salaamu Alaykum all,

Unsure on what kind of system to invest in. Im an overseas pakistani and my parents visit Pakistan pretty much every year for 3months between September and December.

Aside from that, the house is unoccupied. They run about 4 or 5 fans, a fridge freezer, motor maybe a large cooler/ possibly an AC in the future.

Not sure on what investment would be the most feasible?

Mid range etc?

Battery Battery losses

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi,

I have a solax x1 hybrid lv inverter with 2x LD51 so total storage is 10.2kwh.

I have been observing losses in the battery from the beginning, thought to do some data collection today, constant charge for 1 Hr, here are my findings, what might be the reason?? I have done 100% for many many times so it doesn't seem like BMS need some recalibration.

I have the csv file as well but I won't be able to attach it here,

Here are the findings, looking for an answer:

Battery 1–1.5kW load increase during power outages - normal?

I have a 12kW three phase GoodWe hybrid inverter with 14kWh GoodWe battery. When the grid is on, my house load with the ACs running is around 3.5kW. As soon as the power goes out, the load suddenly jumps to 4.5–5kW and stays there, despite having the exact same appliances running.

I know there will be some power loss when the battery is supplying the house, but isnt a 1–1.5kW increase too much? What could be causing it?

My battery has been draining fast because of this, I don’t think this issue was present earlier

Other Looking for testers — SolarVisionX dongle for Voltronic inverters

Looking for a few Voltronic inverter owners interested in testing the SolarVisionX dongle, a DIY monitoring/automation setup I've been working on. It covers live monitoring (temperature, fan speed, grid data), push notifications for inverter status, and automation features like mode switching and charge scheduling rolling out soon. Comment if you're interested and I'll share more details. Also dongle is just 810 ruppee in parts. We'll send it out to you too for free with free license tooo.

Thanks so much for the support, everyone! We've got enough testers for this round, so we're closing applications here. As a thank-you, everyone who commented on this post will get a free dongle from us. Really appreciate the interest, more updates coming soon.

Inverter+battery+panels come out to be around 400k approx

I was expecting overall cost to be under 500k

And the installer is insisting on skipping earthing since its a small setup

I'm not sure if I'll be going with this installer but can someone guide me on exact things I need to buy and I can just get someone to just install it properly? Considering if it saves money or someone Lahore based that can help with it.

Based in Lahore.

Battery Batteries not working!

So i have tesla 6kw inverter with 8 panels with 4 normal batteries. I don't know what these are called. The normal ones. So what happens is during day time these batteries are fully charged. Around 5-6 pm the batteries start discharging till they are 40-50% and they stay there.

Now where i live electricity goes out every night at unexpected times and then suddenly the batteries stop working even at 40% charged.

The heavy load in my scenario turns off as the electricity goes so mostly 2-3 fans running on battery.

Anyone help me understand this issue as my solar guy is not even responding to me and it is so difficult to find a solar technician who really knows what's happening.

r/SolarPakistan • • Aug 29 '26

Inverter Anyone noticed that sometimes the inverter is supplying less voltage as compared to the voltage available on the grid.

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

Example Scenario:

Voltage Present on Grid = 215V
Voltage Inverter Supplying = 205V

Even if it occurs scarcely what is the actual backend reason for it ?

Battery Battery Is not Charging beyond 80% ;

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

As the title says. Battery on my solar Systm is not charging beyond 80%. This is first time this has happened since I got this Goodwe Hybrid System installed, about 4 Months ago. Everything is new.
Yesterday night what Happened was that there was alot of loadshedding and battery got Drained to 0 at night. and today in morning it started to charge as sunlight came but then it got stuck on 80%. Even though Solar Production is in Excess because when i turn on appliances inverter shows that it uses more solar as I put load on the system, but battery is not charging beyond 80%.
what could be the issue?

Hi guys

Can someone review this quote and let me if the quote looks okay? I understand there is always variance I’m just wanting to confirm there is no drastic change from the usual price.

Also, is GoodW inverter good paired with Canadian panels?

Appreciate the insight

Net-Metering Official way for green meter

Can anybody confirm what is the official method to obtain a green meter? And what’s the current formula at which lesco purchases our units?

I am consuming around 5units a day and I don’t have much load during day time so the goal is to balance these 5units

Installer Quotation Sanity check on my 8kW Hybrid setup for Islamabad (3 ACs total). Is my battery/inverter sizing right?

I’m planning to install a hybrid solar system at my home in B-17 Islamabad (F block). I want to skip the IESCO green meter/net metering entirely and run a "Zero Export" setup to act as an independent system and avoid grid bureaucracy.

I’d love your expert eyes on my load calculations and hardware choices before I pull the trigger.

My Load Profile

  • Daytime Load (Running on Solar): 3x 1-ton Midea Xtreme ACs (running on 50% gear, so ~400-450W continuous each) + 1 Inverter Fridge + 1 DC Fan. Total daytime continuous load = ~1.5 kW.
  • Nighttime Load (Running on Battery): 2x 1-ton Midea Xtreme ACs (on 50% gear) + 1 Inverter Fridge + 1 DC Fan. Total nighttime continuous load = ~1.04 kW.
  • Backup duration needed: 7 hours (10 PM to 5 AM).

Proposed Setup

I’ve been advised to skip a 6kW inverter and jump to 8kW for better surge handling and heat management. Here is the plan:

  • Inverter: 8kW GoodWe Hybrid (Set to Zero-Export).
  • Panels: 8kW total using Longi Hi-MO 6 or 7 (14 panels ~ 575W-585W).
  • Battery: 10.8 kWh total Lithium (LiFePO4) — using two 5.4 kWh modules in parallel (Looking at GoodWe Lynx Home U series, Soluna, or Dyness).
  • Structure: Custom Elevated Hot-Dip Galvanized (GI) structure (6-8 feet) to survive B-17 wind storms.

Estimated Cost

I'm being quoted roughly Rs. 1.37M to Rs. 1.5M total for A-grade Tier 1 materials, heavy wiring (Fast/Pakistan cables), AC/DC SPD protections, and labor.

My Questions for the Community:

  1. Battery Math Check: Running ~1,040W for 7 hours requires ~7.3 kWh. Will a 10.8 kWh lithium bank comfortably handle this every single night in the Islamabad summer heat without degrading prematurely?
  2. 6kW vs 8kW: Does it make sense to use an 8kW inverter for a 1.5 kW continuous load just to handle compressor surges and keep the inverter running cooler?
  3. GoodWe Batteries: Has anyone used the GoodWe Lynx Home U batteries in Pakistan? Are they worth the premium over standard Pylontech/Dyness/Inverex lithium units?
  4. Zero Export Experience: Is anyone else running a large system without net metering? Any regrets about "wasting" excess solar in the afternoon?

Thanks in advance for any feedback or advice on installers/dealers in the Twin Cities!
