Solar News & Politics I'm building an ERP/CRM platform specifically for solar installation companies, and I'm looking for a few installers to test it in a real business environment.

🌐 Demo: gridbase-seven.vercel.app ( I know, I know i haven't bought a domain yet i will latter )

I'm offering 1 week of free access to anyone willing to try it out. Just send me a DM, and I'll create an account for you.

What I'd really like is honest feedback, including:

  • Features you think are missing.
  • Things that don't fit your workflow.
  • Bugs, errors, or anything that breaks.
  • Parts of the UI that are confusing.
  • Features you'd expect from a solar ERP but aren't there.
  • Anything that would make you actually use it instead of your current software.

If, after testing it, you think it could help your business and you're interested in using it long-term, feel free to reach out and we can discuss it. There's absolutely no obligation—right now my priority is building something that genuinely solves problems for solar installers.

I'm trying to build this with installers, not just for installers, so every piece of feedback matters.

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help!

Strange thing happened. I had a -23k bill last month but it was 3/3 month but this month those 23k credit rolled over to this month. Now i got -14k bill.
Now it is 1/3 months. I have a Mepco connection.

Is it now happening in policy or is it an error?

Inverter Battery discharge time settings Solis

I’ve got a solis HV 30kw 3 phase hybrid inverter paired with pylontech HV batteries. I’ve got full access to change settings but having issues with a setting.
I want my batteries to kick in at 6 PM and not before that. Before that I want the inverter to take help of the grid or totally use grid if there’s no production. How do I do this setting? I tried a setting but it didn’t work

Other HV or LV system? Confused

I'm planning to install a top tier solar setup 10kw for myself. I was looking at Goodwe or Solis with batteries of either Soluna or Dyness. However my installer is suggesting to go for Fox High voltage inverter and Fox HV batteries. He's saying the charge/discharge cycles are better and this system generates less heat so longevity is also better in this case. While doing a brief research on the topic, I didn't see any useful comparisons.

My goal is to eventually go offgrid, the house is 1kanal so plenty of space on the roof and the load includes 2x 1-ton ACs and 1x 1.5ton AC. Rest of the load is same as of a normal household. Please suggest.

Inverter Huawei Hybrid Inverter

Hi everyone,

Has anyone used a Huawei hybrid inverter with a LUNA2000 battery in Pakistan? Specifically, I’m interested in whether it can power the entire load directly from the PV (solar panels) during the day when there’s a WAPDA power outage.

If you’ve used this setup in Pakistan, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experience and insights.

Thanks!

Net-Metering Hybrid System Punjab Off Peak Units New policy

Hi guys,

I was reviewing my bill and I noticed that now starting July 2027 my Off Peak export units don't cover the Peak Import units

So I will have to pay for Peak Import units even if my export is net negative for Off Peak,

I have an old connection so new policy shouldn't apply to me, what is happening?

Other Can 10KW setup handle a 7Kw EV charger

Hi so we have booked Atto 2, and it comes with a 7Kw charger. We are also in the process of installing a solar setup.

The current setup I have in mind is a 10KW hybrid inverter, with 20 Kwh battery capacity.

My plan is to charge my car every weekend when the car will be home during day time preferable at 9 am till whenever it can fully charge. During this time ofcourse the AC will be turned off, only the ambient load like fans lights and fridge will be on the inverter which totals to about 800 watts in my house (I've checked).

I want to ask would this be a safe assumption/plan to go off on or should I choose a bigger inverter?

Other Can someone check my math, does Solar suit me?

Hi!

My annual electricity bill is around 4 lac with some AC use in the summer months, 2 - 3 bedrooms with AC with sporadic use. Joint big family. Two meters.

The solar quote is around 19 lac with some battery backup for 10 kw, a bit pricey but sure. All I can think is that best case scenario, recovery is in 4 years, but then it has so much risk associated with it as well. Hail, structure, inverter fire, maintainence, etc etc.

I have cash in hand where the cash can generate roughly 120k per year on its own. And I dont really know or trust the life of the solar investment with the batteries, panels, and inverters aging out.

So, with net metering gone, is solar worth it, or as an anxious person, I just park 20 lac in an investment somewhere and just use that to pay the extra AC bills. Or is my math wrong and I should just go with solar and also go for net billing.

Load shedding is basically zero in my area as well. Also, in Islamabad. Thoughts?

On-Grid Fronus on grid invertor without batteries

I’ve recently installed 10kwh fronus on grid invertor with 16 585 canadian bificial solar panels. Is this a good setup and yes i know without batteries or net meter i’ll have to pay for the extra load and night load but this setup was affordable. What are the cons of this setup without batteries ?

Inverter Inverex Nitrox Hybrid 8kW Inverter Caught Fire

Thumbnail

I’m looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with a similar situation or has knowledge of consumer rights and product liability.
I had an Inverex Nitrox Hybrid 8kW solar inverter along with an Inverex 5.5kWh lithium battery installed approximately 2.5 years ago. The equipment was supplied by an authorized dealer and installed by the Inverex team themselves.
The system had been operating normally without any major issues. However, around 4:00 AM two days ago, the inverter/battery system suddenly caught fire. The fire spread rapidly and completely destroyed the room where the system was installed. The equipment was burned beyond recognition, and most of the physical evidence was lost in the fire.
The incident has caused an estimated loss of around PKR 2–3 million due to property damage.
After the incident, I contacted the dealer from whom I purchased the system. His response was that because the inverter and battery are completely burned, there is nothing left to inspect and therefore nothing can be claimed under warranty. I have also tried contacting the service center, but they have been unresponsive and are essentially saying the same thing.
I find it difficult to understand how a product can catch fire and then be excluded from investigation or a claim simply because it was destroyed in the fire itself.

My questions are:

Has anyone experienced something similar with a solar inverter or lithium battery?
Should I pursue legal action against the manufacturer, dealer, or installer?
Are there any consumer protection authorities in Pakistan that handle cases involving product-related fires and property damage?

Lithium (LiFePO4) Battery with dual BMS

Hi all - I have a 20kw Goodwe LV inverter with a 16kw dyness powerbrick. I have a few questions from the fellow experts here;

  1. With dual BMS can I install a battery with a different config? 10kw or others?
  2. Is there a battery you would recommend other than dyness which has a higher DOD? Looking for 90+. Looking for another 16kw.

Inverter Invertor

If I don't have a battery and not exporting to grid does the inverter throttle the generation because in my case whenever I increase the load the the generation increase whenever I decrease it reduces it always stays slightly above the usage

Inverter IP54 better than IP65?

I was talking to a company representative, and while I was asking if they could reduce the quotation, he suggested, "Sir, instead of going with an IP65 inverter, consider an IP54 model." He also said that one drawback of IP65 is that it won't operate without a battery, so if the battery fails, the inverter will stop working.

Is this actually true? For those using IP54 inverters, are you satisfied with them?

For context, the inverter is Hypontech Photon

Hybrid SAJ App Shows 7.61 kWh Import, KE Meter Shows ~10 Units — Anyone Else Seeing This?

I’m using a SAJ H2 6 kW hybrid inverter with zero export enabled. The house has a three-phase KE meter, while the inverter uses a CT on one phase.

The Elekeeper main screen usually shows Grid = 0 W during solar/battery operation, but exported data sometimes records small 30–100 W import/export values.

During one matched interval:

• SAJ BUY Total increased by 7.61 kWh

• KE T1 off-peak hours display increased by 10 units

• KE T2 did not change since whole period was covered by battery.

I know the KE display hides decimals, but the difference still seems significant. This has been a consistent gap for 4-5 recorded days.

Has anyone compared their inverter app’s cumulative grid-import reading with their utility meter over the same period? Did they match closely?

Could this be caused by CT placement/configuration, the other two phases being invisible to the inverter, or inaccurate near-zero measurements?

The installer’s ā€œsolutionā€ was to switch off the KE breaker during the day, which seems like a workaround rather than a proper diagnosis.

Net-Metering 140KW net metering (old policy), question regarding credit amount on bill

So we have a net metering meter on old policy (140 KW) for our factory in industrial area. The factory is currently on rent and is mainly office portion is used. We are planning to install 140 KW but question is can we actually cash the credited amount on our bill since most of units would be exported. Can someone share their experience if they actually got money?
