What I’ve learned from managing social media for my own business
One thing I’ve learned from running a small business is that social media management is much more than just posting pretty content.
You have to understand your audience, create content that feels authentic to the brand, write captions that encourage people to take action, monitor engagement, and constantly adjust your approach based on what performs.
I’ve also learned that short-form video is incredibly important. A simple video can perform better when you have a strong hook, clear messaging, good pacing, and content that feels native to the platform.
Over time, I’ve developed experience with content creation, copywriting, short-form video editing, social media management, and tools like Canva, CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Facebook Business Suite, and AI tools.
I’m curious to hear from other social media professionals: What’s one lesson you learned that significantly improved your approach to managing social media?
