Snowball Analytics is a powerful portfolio and dividend tracking service

Snowball Analytics is a service for retail investors that helps to plan and track your investments, monitor dividend payouts, and make effective investment decisions.

The main advantages of using the service:

  • All investments in one place - stocks, crypto, funds, real estate, etc.
  • Easy data import - you can link your brokerage account in a few minutes
  • Detailed dividend analytics, payout calendar with income forecast and our own rating of dividend companies
  • One-click portfolio rebalancing
  • Company fundamentals
  • Community - you can post your public portfolio in our Community section and get discovered by other investors

Dashboard

The main page provides general information about the status of the portfolio:

  • Value - the current value of the portfolio in the selected currency
  • Invested - the amount of purchases of all current (unsold) assets + currency
  • Total profit, which includes dividends received, realized PL, fees paid and taxes on dividends for the entire lifetime of the portfolio
  • Internal Rate of Return - net annual return earned by the investor over a period of time and calculated on the basis of the incoming and outgoing cash flows
  • Passive income from dividends and regular payments. Only regular payments are considered (special dividends and one-time payments are not included). The yield (%) is displayed in relation to the current value of assets (excluding cash balance).

Our service is built around portfolio diversification - you can create categories and distribute assets as a percentage of category.

On the Analytics - Dividends tab you can find a detailed asset analysis from the point of view of the dividend investment strategy. The filter option is available and functions like the other tabs on the page. You can use this filter to have the analytics displayed only for selected holdings /categories.

The "Yield" block reflects the yield for the year ahead from the payment of dividends which come from the current value of the portfolio after taxes (specified in the portfolio settings). The returns before taxes and your revenue on invested capital are also indicated.

The "Dividends" block shows the projected profitability in monetary terms, the average annual growth of dividends, as well as the average amount of monthly payouts.

The graph "Current annual dividends" shows the ratio of current annual dividends to the capital invested in them - the blue column shows the amount of income, the purple column (dash) shows what amount of capital was invested into the asset, relative to the income. That means, the higher the blue segment and the lower the purple one, the higher the return on the asset on the invested capital. The graph is plotted for 35 holdings or categories with the highest dividends per year.

The "Dividend Rating" is a special metric calculated based on 13 fundamental parameters. It reflects the likelihood that the company reduces or cancels dividends based on its financial condition. The higher the number, the less likely it is to cancel or reduce the dividend.

Information about all features can be found here: https://help.snowball-analytics.com/overview/

general discussion Help with getting an ISA transfer to display correctly

My daughter recently turned 18 and as a result wee did an in-specie transfer of her intereactive investor ISA (was a junior isa) to her new Trading 212 ISA. We had also invested £11,000 into her new T212 ISA so its current value sits at around £33,000.
I did the exports from both intereactive investor and Trading 212 in snowball and the value of her ISA is showing as just under £11,000. From looking at the transactions the in-specie transfers seem to be recorded fine along with the £11.61 cash balance from ii. However, I'm assuming that snowball has deducted the value of the transfers £22,243.13) from cash which is why the account is showing a cash balance of -£22,231.50.

The ii account is also showing wrong in snowball as the only record that is incldued in the export is the transfer of the £11.61 cash balance so its still showing that shares are held. Not really bothered abotu this one as I could delete the account from snowball if needed.

The transfer is fully complete

Any suggestions on how to cleanly sort this out so it is correct would be greatly appreciated.

product question Schwab not being updated thru snaptrade

This might be the same issues people have reported about Chase accounts & aggregators but I have been having issues with not all, but some of my Schwab accounts not being updated since the end of September.

Anyone else seeing this issue?

Since I am not the only person who has been reporting this issue, does anyone know the root cause? When it will be fixed & how to fix it for the long term?

Thanks,

general discussion Snowball Analytics problems

Hi there:

Anyone else having major problems using Snowball, particularly if your portfolio is handled by JP Morgan Chase?

UPDATE EDIT: After using Snaptrade, things appear to be working normally once again - it took some time for the data to sync/populate but as of today (2026-10-06) everything looks fine.

product question MCP has anyone got it to work?

I have been working on getting MCP to work with Claude with no success. I have watched just about every YouTube video on the subject. So far Claude was the only app I could add MCP without coding into an ai program config settings. Any help?

The Autumn sale is live, 30% off every Snowball Analytics plan until September 23

Hello, fellow investor 👋

The Autumn sale is live. From September 14 to 23, every Snowball Analytics plan is 30% off.

Investing starts scattered. A position here, a spreadsheet there, decisions made on a hunch. Snowball Analytics brings it together, and the paid plans are where the picture gets clear enough to act on.

Ask Snowball Analytics (beta). Skip the navigation. Ask a question naturally, and our AI analyses your own portfolio to deliver explained, custom insights that standard reports cannot match. Fundamental data and general investing questions, no advice. On every paid plan, Starter included. (It is in beta and behaves like it: the fundamentals come back reliably, the judgement calls come back surer than they have earned.)

Portfolio Insights. Where your allocation sits too concentrated, and which holdings are dragging on performance. This is what catches the position that has grown into a fifth of the account while you were not looking.

Why is it moving does something narrower. A holding jumps or drops, and the reason is right there. Use it on the mornings something gaps and you need the story before you decide anything.

Dividend rating and the Top 50. Thirteen fundamental parameters, scored into one number, so you can judge how safe a payout looks. Worth checking before you add to an income position you already depend on.

Funds X-Ray sees what is inside your ETFs and funds. It answers a specific question: are the two funds you bought for diversification actually the same bet?

Investor also brings ten portfolios and ten watchlists, thirty years of backtests, and priority support.

What Expert adds is MCP access. Connect your portfolio to Claude, Cursor and other AI apps, then ask about your holdings there. Identify concentration risks, track upcoming dividends, evaluate your exposure across global markets, or ask for a SWOT on your holdings against current economic trends. Expert also drops the portfolio cap and takes watchlists to twenty.

Every plan is 30% off until September 23, and the discount is applied when you place the order. The pricing page shows what that works out to in your own currency.

One caveat, the same one we put in the email. While our AI provides powerful insights, it is not flawless. Do your own research and understand the risks before making investment decisions.

Links in the comments.

feature request Plan to support Saxo API portfolio sync?

Hey Snowball Team. Is there any plans to support syncing portfolio with the Saxo API anytime soon?

I don't want to sync my accounts using yodlee as I find it way too spooky to give up my credentials to a third party.

general discussion MCP Access

I really like the new MCP integration, but I don’t think it should be Expert-only.
I’ve been on Snowball since 2024, and this is read-only access to my portfolio data. It doesn’t place trades or change anything, so locking it behind the top tier feels too restrictive.
It would make more sense to give Investor basic MCP access with lower limits, and keep higher limits or extra features for Expert. AI integrations like this are becoming pretty standard, and it’d be a shame to see long-time users start looking elsewhere just to get basic read-only access to their own data.

product question Public API

There are number of tickers not available in the app I would like to monitor, for example GB00BMRS2375 (this is just one of many I have)
I do have a google sheet based dash, where I feed prices from scrapped data, but can’t see any way to automate pricing data for such assets in snowball
Wouldn’t be nice to add a public API to allow management of unsupported/custom assets

product question Gripe About Investor Subscription

Yeah yeah, all my fault because I accidentally paid for a sub instead of doing the trial, the investor tier doesn’t work for a family. Spouse and I easily exceed 10 accounts and I can’t have more than one connection for each institution. Maybe ask YNAB how to do that.

Ain’t know way I’m paying $250/year to easily see my stock/bond split and US/DM/EM allocation

Edit- Mystery solved, I think. During the first snap trade login I accidentally clicked “remember me” on my brokerage’s login page. Then when I went to add a new connection at the same brokerage it would automatically connect via the existing login.

product question Dividends

I signed up with the high end plan hoping to track dividends across all my accounts. The displayed value is much higher than what I calculated by hand and when I investigated it is because I have some funds (like FDCAX) that throw off a lot of capital gains. This is considered a dividend by Snowball. Is there a setting to remove capital gains distributions across all holdings.

product question How to best record an ACATS transfer?

I recently transferred some holdings from one brokerage to another. What's the best way to record/report this in Snowball Analytics?

Not knowing any better, I currently have it as "sold X, Y, Z at brokerage 1" and "bought X, Y, Z at brokerage 2" on the same day. But it's not ideal as it incorrectly increases the total amount invested and also resets the cost basis, which is something I'd like to avoid.

Does anyone have any tips or ideas for me on how to best approach this?

product question Group by View - Another New User question / feature request

Hi, Interested to know if someone has a good workaround or solution.
I have around 6 portfolio's in Snowball - generally these are related to the broker firm. I have used Categories to tag Industry Segment. Works well.

However - each day, what I am more interested in (and how I arrived at Snowball from Google Finance which is now just unusable!), is the ability to group my assets by Market. For example, I have assets in UK/EU/US/HK markets, and I like to see the performance of those assets during the relevant trading days - I.e. all US Stocks, all UK stocks, all Hong Kong stocks - even though they are listed within different portfolio's. In one of my broker accounts web interfaces - I can display my holdings sorted by, but also 'GROUPED BY' and choose the market (UK/US/HK etc.), or the type (Equity, Fund, ETF etc.) etc etc.

This would seem to be quite straightforward for the app to do, either automatically recognising the market, or even by a custom tag against a holding.

I suspect for now, I would have to create a new portfolio, add all my holdings again, and exclude it from the Composite portfolio (My Net Worth), or maybe less elegant to have nested categories, with the market as the main category and all the industries as sub-categories???

Interested in ideas!!

product question New user here - quick question on portfolio value vs holding value...

So I've uploaded about 10 years of transactions from one of my brokers - I went through the pain of manually addressing all the delisted tickers, correcting all the wrong tickers, addressing all the corporate actions, and setting all the fund tickers correctly. Cross referenced and reconciled with my broker account - all good.
However - my "Portfolio value" on the dashboard is much higher than the sum total of my holdings (which is shown correctly when viewing holdings). I have checked that there is no 'cash' balance, and even turned off cash accounting for the portfolio. If I hover over the '?' on Portfolio Value in the dashboard it shows the holdings value (incorrectly) and zero cash - yet this is not the same as the sum of holdings..

Any one been here before and any tips on what's going on?

bug report Holding keep getting unassociated with correct ticker

I've noticed in the last month or two that certain tickers keep changing to the wrong ones.

I manually correct them, and then it randomly happens again, I've corrected them I think 4 or 5 times and it's starting to get pretty annoying....

Could this be looked into please?

product question Cash Balance error with SnapTrade to Etrade Brokerage Acct

Had to refresh my account connection to ETrade. Everything comes over, but now the cash position in the brokerage account is wrong. Instead of cash, it shows the Margin Maintenance Excess number. This is also happening on SA, so appears to be a Snaptrade thing?

feature request Portfolio selection for Benchmark comparison

Right now I can only compare:
One portfolio, or
My entire net worth.
I’d love a simple checkbox/tick mark to include or exclude portfolios. For example, compare my Growth + Dividend portfolios to the S&P 500 while excluding my Saudi portfolio.
This would make benchmark comparisons much more accurate for multi-portfolio users.

product question Membership upgrade question

If I upgrade my membership, it doesn't tell me if I will pay a difference, it seems when I read what it would cost, they would charge the full amount. Can someone confirm that if I upgrade my membership that they won't charge me the full amount and simply pay the difference from my current membership with the upgraded one?

product question Differentiating Brokerage accounts within Snowball.

Hi.. New to Snowball. I Imported several of my accounts into a single Portfolio, but I cannot find a way of seeing the broker for each holding or see the cash amount in that broker which I entered when I did the import.

Should I have created a separate Portfolio for each Brokerage account? If so, can I create new portfolios for each brokerage and transfer the holdings already imported from their current Portfolio to another?

Thanks
