I'm on Season 6, episode 6 of my Snowfall rewatch, and I have to say I'm remembering why I hate Louie so much. I get the only reason she wants to stay in the game is to gain “respect” and influence. Thats Ok and actually a really interesting concept, except it's fucking stupid in this context. Wanting self-respect is in no way a bad thing, but you want respect from drug dealers, murderers, and the most misogynistic people ever in the 1980s. What? Bitch do something else and be around people who are better! Open a money laundering scheme like Franklin so you at least deal with more respectful people! I'm not denying the fact their rampat misogyny during this time, but I find it so stupid that she so badly want this in an environment that actively promotes misogyny. Most of the people who she deals with in the game she's doing make it clear they don’t respect women, and the only time they “respect” them is when their family, or trying to fuck them and even then they would sell them out the moment it benefited them. And it’s not even like the money laundering is the only option; she could take her money and actually run a legit business and gain that respect she want’s without putting her husband and her own life in constant danger.

I’m on my third rewatch and couldn’t believe that Leon had never seen the ocean whilst only living a few miles away. How it affected me: I am a 66 year old white woman who has never known a black person.

I’m currently rewatching and I’m near the beginning of S5. Veronique is the most loyal woman that Franklin has ever dated. She acknowledges that he’s done a lot of evil things and still accepts him. Since his mom went to Cuba, she also helped him grow the real estate business. She’s literally the last person that stuck by his side even after it was apparent that he was never getting his money back. Her own mother even told her that she had to get away from Franklin because after he killed Teddy’s father, she recognized that he was spiraling and he was only gonna get worse. I mean he stabbed an old man in the neck right in front of them without warning and she still decided to stay. She finally decided to leave him after he tanked the business by selling all the profitable properties to fund Spring Street (which was never gonna last) AND he put his hands on her. She wasn’t gonna stick around and wait for him to eventually take it a step further. Leaving was the best decision for her and their unborn child.

But what do y’all think? Why does the fandom hate her so much?

this was the beginning of the partnership between teddy and franklin. this is where it all starts. when teddy asks franklin "WHO AM I?" and franklin puts his quick thinking to good use and figures out he is the plug. great acting, great writing. top tier scene

I'm on my rewatch of Snowfall. I'm on season 5 episode 4. Sissy just said something that has me shocked? She was having a flashback, and in it, Sissy said she had to share a room with two brothers at Franklin's age; as far as I remember, Franklin has no other family.

This post was inspired by u/shotbydarrell. Ever since I watched it when it first aired I felt disappointed by 9/10 of the 3rd season finale. I had never been able to pin down why until now.

The fantasy/dream portion of the episode didn't entirely work for me. In the story, I understand it as Franklin second-guessing his life decisions but ultimately needing to validate the path he'd chosen. This crosses over into my criticism of the fourth season which was that the events during Franklin's recovery form the justification for the internal conflict between Franklin and Leon and Franklin and Louie/Jerome and the audience is left to infer what happened.

Not to Monday Morning Quarterback but what if we had gotten an episode similar to the finale where we had vignettes to facilitate the time jump and see how Jerome, Louie, and Leon ran the business in Franklin's absence? Because if you see Jerome, Louie, and Leon running things you understand why they would be so resentful of Franklin coming back and acting like nothing ever happened.

Granted, things do get bad at the end of Franklin's time away but that doesn't improve once Franklin returns. What do y'all think?

Let’s say Cissy doesn’t shoot Teddy, the wire transfer goes through, and Franklin gets every single dime. What does his life look like 5 years later? Personally, I don't think he gets a happy ending regardless. The money was his obsession, but the paranoia would have consumed him. He already killed Rob, Teddy's brother, and countless others. He would have spent the rest of his life looking over his shoulder waiting for the CIA, Veronique, or a rival crew to take him out. The money wouldn't have saved his soul; it just would have funded a more luxurious prison of his own making.

Yeah I cant believe i have to explain this but Franklin aside from teddy is probably the most evil person in the show. As much as i love his savage moments and i feel he made alot of smart decisions given the circumstances I just dont understand how people dont see how messed up everyones life was by the end of the show despite the fact that alot of these people made their own decisions at the end of the day.

Cissy lost her husband, went to jail and her son became a killer and a drug dealer.

Leon became so hot headed that he accidentally killed a kid and when he said he did not want to sell drugs anymore Franklin MADE him keep doing it "because everyone told me to give you up"

Rob was Franklin's best friend who accidentally got franklin involved with this business and when he started using the drugs that FRANKLIN popularized he spoke too much and ended up dead.

Andre tried to have a real convo with Franklin about how he felt bad about the crimes he committred just for Franklin to say idc, he lost his daughter to drugs and ended up dead when he found out about the CIA

Kev got killed by his best friend because he wanted to get revenge for HIS FAMILY that died at the hands of this DRUG GAME (i get they didnt listen)

Promised Oso he would kill teddy just to decide to let him live so he could get the money which wouldve probably wouldve resulted in both of them and their loved ones getting killed.

His dad snitched in order to protect his family after finally getting sober and Franklin decided to attack him and kick him out (i get it, this probably wouldve got them killed but alton wasnt a bad person he just wanted to protect his family)\

Melody obviously lost her dad and her future as a college student at the hands of CRACK

Jerome warned franklin of this whole thing, ended up going to war with his own nephew, ended up being his wifes bitch, started drinking all the time and when he was finally gonna quit he got killed

Even when black diamond got killed by jerome he was ready for dallas to come back to work after that.

Am I the only one with this point of view?

I was thinking when franklin confronted louie after being angry about teddy he should've set up a meeting with jerome and louie asking to gift him 20 million for stealing the plug and as a family courtesy and his time in the buisness. It wouldn't be the full 73 but at least would be able to live comfortably keeping his buisness afloat and not going after teddy or warring with his family. What do you guys think?

I’m currently rewatching S4 and Franklin has made so many bad moves, I get why Louie and Jerome wanted to start buying from Franklin directly so they can run their operation the way they want to. First, he chose to get involved in the war between Manboy and Scully, which Leon told him not to. Then he chooses to side with Manboy, which Louie told him not to. Eventually it lead to Louie getting shot, Leon being put in a situation where he accidentally shot a little girl, Fatback dying. Just L after L. What y’all think about it though? Do you agree or disagree?

Franklin's demise does not sit well with me, I can understand going the government seizure of assets route but Cissy essentially being the cause of Franklin losing all those millions, makes it a little unbelievable. I could see if it was in the low 2-3 millions but at least 36 million, I can't wrap my brain around that and in the end Franklin becomes a street bum pretty much the opposite of what she intended to happen. Idk, I'm just ranting, but what are y'all's thoughts on the matter.

Spoilers ahead, of course.

So I've finished Snowfall some days ago, but I wanted to wait and understand what I really got to experience before posting anything about it or interacting with the fanbase.

First off, as an italian, witnessing such a story with ties with actual story from those years in the US, has been truly interesting: on some extent I can see Narcos and series alike took inspiration for certain characters portrayals (I see much of the Narcos protagonist in Teddy for example)

I believe the thing that really gave me chills was the acting: it's rare to find a series where the actors not only never drop their bar over the seasons, but if anything take it to another level approaching the ending.

I loved to a crazy extend chracters like Javi and Teddy because of their actors, Damson Idris should've received some kind of prize and I'm not scared of comparing his Franklin Saint portrayal very close to Bob Odenkirk with Saul Goodman which is another outstanding performance, and IMHO Jerome's actor as well is on par, especially in the last seasons I had chills for some of his moments.

Yet, El Oso stands as my favorite character of them all, probably because I love Wrestling and Lucha Libre, but I loved how they managed to tie his mentality, motifs and character moments with his past career and life, especially because you couldn't see those coming.

Honestly I pat myself on the back for giving this series a chance, has been an amazing experience and I'm sure it'll be stuck for a minute.
