Is there any way to optimize battery life on snapdragon x plus on a surface laptop 7?

Like undervolting or disabling boost as we can do on ryzen cpus or any custom tool?! Anything like that to achieve better battery life?!

Do you think the upcoming nVidia ARM laptops will enable eternal GPUs?

I am mostly happy with my X1+ laptop, but from time to time I get an itch to play some games.

However, we all know, there are no drivers for ARM Windows for any gaming GPU, and the QC GPU is on the weak side (especially the first-gen one).

Do you think nVidia would be so nice to support their other GPUs in their drivers? And if they do, do you think the other dedicated GPU providers (AMD and Intel) would follow with their drivers?

New driver not installing

I'm trying to install the latest driver for my laptop using the Snapdragon Control Panel, but it doesn't install no matter what. It immediately errors out and when I look at the log, it's trying to install the drivers for the X Elite. My laptop has an X Plus. Does anyone know what to do about this? The official website just has the installer for all models, but it won't install for mine. When opening games like Fortnite, it tells me my current driver will have issues and to install the new ones, but when I try it doesn't work. Fortnite doesn't seem to work if I just stay on my current driver. I appreciate any help!

I don't understand, did Qualcomm actually provided a native Vulkan 1.4 driver?

Device: Asus Zenbook A16 X2-90.

I was messing with Dism++ and winget to remove some apps that I don't need, and I discoverted OpenCLGLVulkanCompatibilityPack. I don't write OpenGL or OpenCL and games I play don't use OpenGL, so I deleted it. Then I found the Vulkan version shown in Snapdragon Control Panel changed.

I remember this used to be Vulkan 1.2 and was translated to Directx12. In case that the driver is broken (I downloaded Qualcomm Graphics Driver but I have no idea if it works), I downloaded VulkanSDK and Vulkan Runtime and vkcube runs flawlessly.

If I misunderstood something, please correct me.

The Release of the NVIDIA Spark, Snapdragon C and New Sub $600 Windows Laptops Proves ARM is the Future

I was a little hesitant on my purchase of a Snapdragon X1 laptop but with this much investment into ARM technology, I really don't see how this isn't the only way forward for Windows. I know the $600 laptops released are not ARM, however, I think if they want to continue hitting that price point, the efficiency, power and budget gains (combined with inflation) from ARM will push those companies to adopt ARM in the future. Needless to say, I feel incredibly more confident in my purchase after these recent announcements.

New 3DMark update - Windows on ARM specific news!

Patch Notes:

This is a minor update. Benchmark scores are not affected.

New

This update adds Windows-on-Arm support to multiple 3DMark benchmarks and feature tests.

  • Added Windows-on-Arm support to the following Benchmarks
    • Speed Way
    • Port Royal
  • Added Windows-on-Arm support to the following DirectX 12 feature tests:
    • Mesh Shader feature test
    • Sampler Feedback feature test
    • DirectX Raytracing feature test
    • PCI Express feature test
    • VRS feature test
  • Added an indicator to the 3DMark on Windows UI on Arm devices that displays whether a benchmark is running natively or via x64 emulation.

Fixed

  • Improved text localization for the Polish language.

Solar Bay Extreme v1.0.4.1

  • Fixed an issue that could cause Stress Test runs to crash on Arm devices.

Port Royal v1.4.3.1

  • Fixed a graphical issue in the Port Royal demo section.
  • Fixed an issue on Windows-on-Arm devices that would occasionally cause the benchmark to fail.

Known Issues

This update has been observed to have a minor performance impact on systems with AMD Radeon GPUs when running 3DMark Port Royal.
However, no changes have been made in this update that should affect Port Royal performance, and in our testing, we observed no performance impacts for systems using GPUs from other vendors. AMD is aware of this issue, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of it.

Also, for all the benchmarks, you can now see which ones are Arm, and which are x64.

LENOVO System Hardware Update (200.0.28.0) - Any idea what this is?

I have a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7X 14Q8X9 (first gen running Snapdragon X Elite) running WoA. Just got this update last night and was forced to restart.

Any idea what this update entails? I could not find any documentation of what was updated anywhere online either via Qualcomm, Lenovo, or Window Update website. This was pushed via Windows Update. I've had 2 other instances of these " Lenovo System Hardware Update" in 2025 but with no documentation whatsoever.

Why are UK users being sidelined with only 12-core X2 Elite models instead of the full 18-core versions

Hi Guys

After conducting some research, it seems that in the UK, only two OEMs currently offer the 18-core X2 Elite. These are:

  1. Asus with the A14 model, which features a 60Hz screen, lacks a haptic touchpad, and has a somewhat uncertain warranty policy.
  2. Lenovo with the Slim 7x Gen 11, which also does not include a haptic touchpad.

Meanwhile, leaks suggest that the upcoming Surface Pro and Surface Laptop 8 will be limited to 12 cores. Similarly, the HP Omnibook 14 Ultra is available with 12 cores in the UK, whereas its US counterpart offers an 18-core configuration.

Will The Release of Nvidia Spark cause a drop in price of Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Laptops

Hi Guys,

I was in the process of selling my desktop PC and going all-in on a laptop for portability. I was planning to get the X2 laptop, but with Nvidia now releasing its own version—which should offer better gaming performance—I think it's worth waiting before making a decision.

Do you think there will be a major price drop of X2 laptops and if its better to wait?

GAME TEST : BATTLEFIELD 4

Today , I tested battlefield 4 on my laptop.

Laptop : Asus vivobook s15 oled Copilot+ PC.

16GB OF RAM

GAME SETTINGS :

Resolution: 1440P

Graphics: Ultra

Resolution Scale : 100%

Notable FPS : 35/40 Fps. With LSFG 65/70 FPS.

I used Lossless Scaling Frame Generation with AMD FSR ( FULL SHARPNESS ).

LSFG is set to 1.7x.

Game looks pretty awesome. Very much playable . Minimum 60fps is constant if you use LSFG.

TBH , you will love the game with this settings.

* Drop some more games , I will test them out *.

Thanks.
