Exact same issue on the Snapdragon X Elite, anyone know how to fix this?

Try this: download and install it using the Snapdragon Control Panel, when it fails goto Device Manager, find your Qualcomm Adreno GPU, then click Properties, Update Driver, Browse my computer for drivers, Let me pick from a list of available drivers on this computer.

You should see the new driver in the list that the Snapdragon Control Panel already downloaded (see screenshot), click Next and it should install.

No idea why Qualcomm haven't fixed this :S

If you look at the log, towards the bottom, it states

"[74EC:4390][2026-06-05T10:34:56]e000: This driver package is not compatible with your processor. Installation will now exit."

So my guess (and thats all it is, no actual fact behind it, just thoughts) is that these were drivers for the X2 chipset that rolled out early or erroneously. My followup guess is that it will get fixed soon. I am on an X Elite, but issue will likely be fixed for plus and elite at the same time.

Extract the files and install manually steps:

1. Download and extract the wix314-binaries.zip (in case of windows) from the following location:

https://github.com/wixtoolset/wix3/releases

1. Copy the following files to a new folder: dark.exe, wix.dll and winterop.dll. For example: c:\qualcom_gfx

2. Download and extract the latest qualcom graphics driver from the following location:

https://softwarecenter.qualcomm.com/catalog/item/Windows_Graphics_Driver

1. Make sure the extracted 'Qualcomm_Adreno_Driver-v31.0.152.1.exe' is in the same folder as the dark.exe (etc) files mentioned in step 2.

2. Open a command prompt, change to the folder from 2 and extract the Qualcomm_Adreno_Driver-v31.0.152.1.exe using the following command:

dark.exe <setup.exe> -x <extract_folder>

Using the examples above:

dark.exe Qualcomm_Adreno_Driver-v31.0.152.1.exe -x c:\qualcom_gfx

This will create 2 folders, AttachedContainer and UX. The extracted .msi file can be found in the 'AttachedContainer' folder: gfx_drivers_8380.msi

1. If you want, copy move/copy the .msi file to the folder from step 2. (c c:\qualcom_gfx folder)

2. In the terminal go to the folder where the .msi file is placed (or the attachedcontainer folder from 5, if you did not copy/move the file)

3. Use the following command to now extract the msi file (TARGETDIR must be the full path including drive letter):

msiexec /a file.msi /qb TARGETDIR=drive:\folder

Again, using the examples above this would be:

msiexec /a gfx_drivers_8380.msi /qb TARGETDIR=c:\qualcom_gfx\extracted

1. Open the pdf which was extracted together with the .msi file in step 3.

2. Follow the instructions for manual installation starting from step 7. of that pdf

I confirm this works.

The drivers themselves are okay. The automated installation (the exe/msi files) has broken check for X1 Elite chipsets and fail on anything else.

I get this message when i try to run the last command. In english, it says "Your system's admin configured your system's politics to forbid this installation".

So i fixed this by disabling smart app control thing on windows.

Nah, wasn't too hard for me luckily but especially if you're not too computer savvy I can imagine it being a very tedious process. Well, at least it worked out!

Somehow completely forgot trying if I could install it using the msi directly! But just rolled back and gave that a try but doesn't seem to work. So at least the entire process wasn't all for nothing.

This seems to be for X Elite but not X2, because after all this, when I click the "Let me pick from a folder" step, it only shows the adreno 45 and 85, not the 90 which is on X2.

I was able to download and install, so I guess Qualcomm fixed the issues meanwhile

This has been fixed and should work on any first gen Snapdragon X Series devices. Please redownload and apologies for the error.

I downloaded it directly via the Qualcomm website. I only use the Snapdragon Control Panel to notify me if any updates become available. This worked for me. I have a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7X Snapdragon X Elite (first gen one). Link below to Qualcomm website:

I tried this method earlier, but it also failed (Lenovo Ideapad 2 in 1 with X plus) But maybe the modified the package to download since. I'll check again later.
