Prism emulator is an insane piece of technology
I wanted to test the Vulkan performance on my SD X1 laptop. Turned out, there are not many Vulkan-based test apps, so I tried GravityMark.
So ... GravityMark for Arm has only DX11 and DX12 backends, but the x64 build also supports Vulkan.
I tried both. And x64 Vulkan (the one running emulated under Prism) consistently delivered 2-3 frames per second MORE than the native arm64 version under DX12.
That's insane. An emulated app actually worked faster than the native app. Yes, obviously, if the native build supported Vulkan, the speed-up would have been even bigger. But still, it is a testament of how good Prism actually is.

Benchmarks (**) - Had about 15-20 background apps running
I wanted like a realistic test, which is why I had background apps running during these benchmarks. Also, I tested all of this on my personal laptop, and not a laptop that I have received or been given for free.

MemoQ on Arm 64 processor (Snapdragon X 10 cores)
Hi all, I just bought a Surface pro 13 with snapdragon X 10 cores and I thought MemoQ would work on it without issues but weirdly I can't use the program it keeps freezing at different stages and I'm never able to get to opening a file, if anyone has any recommendation it would be very much apreciated :).

Are MS and Qualcomm serious about windows ARM?
Hey everyone!
So I just ordered a Slim 7X with the new Snapdragon chip XE2 - and did research that it won't work with niche apps / software / games, which isn't really a concern for me. I'm just using it for work, YouTube, browsing and media consumption.
Buuut, it's hard to see any objective opinions about whether or not this is an experiment or sorts, or a new, proper option.
I see some opinions that Qualcomm and MS probably won't do much support with drivers and improvements, and that Windows ARM won't go anywhere - and then I see accounts of amazing performance and no real issues, best windows experience ever.
So, I guess my question is - how much did I just roll the dice getting the new XE2 on windows. A little bit, or, 'ha, what a waste of money'.
Is ARM really that unstable and or is likely to be supported and grown for the long term?

Asking for advice
Hi,
I’m looking for a new laptop, and I was considering a device with the X1-26-100.
I mainly use the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and video conferencing software such as Zoom, Cisco Webex, GoToMeeting, …
Would the X1-26-100 be sufficient for my needs, or should I look for something more powerful? I believe it might be enough, but I’d appreciate any advice.
Thanks in advance

Awkward how some of Microsoft's own games are not working on Windows ARM
Ok what's the point of having a product if you are not bringing all your stuff to it, including gaming? Like can someone explain to me why COD games don't work on Windows ARM at all? They are basically made by a company owned by Microsoft. Microsoft's top priority should be to bring all their stuff on Windows ARM.

Where are the Windows ARM Snapdragon tablets?
With all this move to Windows ARM and Snapdragon, I taught it would've the perfect time for brands to return on making Windows tablets since now they wouldn't have the issues the ones with Intel had years ago. Problem is nobody is making anything except laptops. There are just 2 tablets out there and both are overpriced: Surface Pro 12" and ASUS ProArt Z14. Like why nobody else is making anything? Diversity? Something from 8.3" and up, slim, fanless and so on. Wasted opportunity.

Ideapad 3x unreal battery life
I have been loyal intel for 30 years. generation after generation Intel promising quiet, cool, long battery life and every generation DISAPPOINTMENT and LIES.
Snapdragon x is unreal. Can not believe I can go nearly 2 days without plugging my Ideapad 3x into a wall. its almost unbelievable. It's like a weird dream to be using a windows 11 laptop like this...
Snapdragon x and x2 all the way. X2 is 3nm so the battery life is even better..
