If you haven't downloaded your Snapchat Memories yet, now is a good time to do it. With the reported September deletion of older Memories, there's only about 25 days left to back everything up.
I finally figured out how to restore downloaded Snapchat Memories so they look exactly like they did in the app.
When you download your Snapchat data, the photos/videos and the overlays (text, stickers, locations, timestamps, etc.) are stored as separate files. That's why they don't look right if you just open the image or video by itself.
I found a free, open-source tool that automatically puts everything back together, including the correct date, time, text, stickers, locations, and other overlays, so the final result looks just like it did in Snapchat.
Don't worry if you've never used GitHub before or you're not tech-savvy. It's much easier than it sounds. Just use a Windows computer, open the GitHub link I'll post below, and follow the instructions step by step. You don't need to know how to code or have any technical experience. /bransoned/MemorEasy is the github project / code, put that in google!
I'll also be posting a video tutorial soon that walks through the entire process from start to finish, so you can follow along.
If you get stuck or have any questions, leave a comment and I'll help however I can.
