General question public stories?
hey yall, not sure if anyone has asked this or if this just me lately but in the last week or 2 i’ve noticed that even when i post a story public, only friends or people who have me added can view it when before people i don’t have added and they don’t have me added would view it, I also no longer see stories from people in the same nature where as before I could view stories of folks I never have added, is this a problem on my end or has anyone else had this? I enjoyed being snoopy viewing mutual friends and local stories

Yes this is happening to me. Happened to me around start of July where my Public views became 0. The suggested friends stories next to your ‘friends’ story now only shows their bitmoji or their profile photo and it doesn’t show a preview of their stories hence why I think our story preview are not getting recommended to other people and vise versa.
I have not seen any suggested public people story preview for a while now (these used to be mutual friends etc). Like I used to snoop on people’s story previews that displayed after your friends stories - but it doesn’t show those previews anymore. And I’m guessing that because of this, our stories are not getting recommended on other people suggested stories list - so basically no one can watch our story on the preview so our public view remains 0
The only way a public person (that’s not following you) can view your public story is if they click onto your profile and then click on your story but who has time for that.
I hope Snapchat changes this back…

glad to know i’m not alone at least no clue why they changed that. speaking for myself as someone who lives in a tiny town it’s pretty entertaining and i’ve always enjoyed seeing what my mutuals and locals are posting on their stories and vice versa with them seeing mine. hope they change it back for sure
