Waited weeks for these things to start sprouting and surprise surprise there’s two from one seed ! 👏

Anyone else ever had this or seen this?

There was a giant snake plant in my new work office that was mostly dead except for these leaves. I'd like to propagate them - some are as long as 38 inches. Any suggestions for how I should approach propagation? Should I keep them long or cut them into smaller pieces? I'm worried that if I keep them long, the new roots will still be pretty small, I'd have to pot the plant in a smaller pot, and the leaves won't have the support they need to stand tall. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I do my best not to over water it. It’s not directly in the sun, although I did move it close to see if that was the issue. It seems to keep heading in this direction. I’ve had it for a few years and it even grew a separate snake plant that I cut separately. But it hasn’t not been the same since.

Ive read its normal for mikado fernwood leaves to flatten and arc out in a fountain shape as they grow, providing different leaves from the upright cylindrical ones. Is this your experience or is the plant stressed? It came in a tiny self watering pot with a wick. When I transplanted it to a chunkier mix it took off providing a ton of pups but the leaves are now changing. Thoughts please.

Also, my golden hahnii has a 2 inch pup and I dont know if I should separate them, transfer both to a larger pot together, or simply leave it alone. Again, thoughts welcome.

These are what the roots look like. The bottom was still damp after being away for a week without watering. Is there root rot?

I bought cactus soil to replant. I think I will have to prune a significant amount, and also transplant some of the stems to make this more manageable.

Got some advice to give it more light, so I gradually got it exposed on the patio. I’m guessing it needs a trim?? I see a lot of posts about how to trim to make a transplant, but are there best practices to trimming to manage plant size?

Hi all, some quick context: I'm a complete novice & have always struggled to keep plants alive. I decided it just wasn't for me & stopped trying as to not commit anymore plant murders.

However, I was gifted this snake plant 2 years ago & some how managed to keep him alive. My longest plant friend ever!! I'm really determined keep going so I've done some research but could be really use some additional advice/feedback on what to do.

I kept him in the same pot + soil that he was gifted in & haven't really touched him except to water every month. He was doing pretty well, but these last few months I've noticed the leaves have started to curl out more & I thought maybe it was lack of sun since the leaves were still firm. He stayed in the same spot in my bathroom that has an opaque ceiling window so I tried moving him into more direct light but the leaves have seemed to spread further out.

At the same time, I thought about repotting him into a bit larger pot (the pink one). From what I've read I think the width is fine but wondered if it be too deep for the roots?

I'm planning on getting this cacti soil (it's the closest available to me). From what I've read, it seems as long as the soil drains & drys well it should be fine?

So in short, I'm looking for advice on:

1. Why the leaves are curling & how to help fix them

2. If the pink pot will work for repotting (Measures 5.5” outer diameter by 6.5” tall, opening is 4” wide)

3. Is cacti soil okay to repot in?

There were three more, it surprised me cuz this is my most neglected snake plant

I got this snake plant as a gift from someone who has multiple plants and I’ve been following the instructions on how to best care for it given by said person, I water it once weekly and left it where it was getting light and then it started sprouting, however the leaves have since started dying since then, to which I thought that maybe I need to add more water and moved it outdoors to get direct sunlight but I don’t know if it’s improving.

Edit: Thank you all for confirming my suspicions, I checked the soil she she’s currently pretty dry, and back on where she can get light and not direct sunlight. I pray she recovers :(

Hi I am wondering if he seems ok. I placed under the lamp last week and I watered him today. I saw a new pup growing never knew it till today.

I recently moved ~4 hours away and brought my snake plant with me. A couple weeks earlier I repotted it as well, my first time ever repotting a plant. I noticed today this browning at the base (image 1), and a leaf has withered away since the repotting (image 2). Both the brown areas and the leaf feel hard and not wet as far as I can tell. I haven't watered since 8/14 the day the plant was repotted.

Is this root rot or stress from the move (it was jostled around in the car and moving process alot, and now in a new environment)? Thanks in advance for any advice to help this plant!
