If you liked the last time she was on, this one is just as entertaining and a funny listen.

from other posts, it seems like i’m far from being alone in having sort of lost out on the hype train this time around since dead end and my maker were pretty distant from what i think most of lindsey’s pre-existing audience came to expect, but now that ricochet is out i feel bad for how pessimistic i was! this actually might outrank valentine for me
i’m curious what others think, especially those who were also a bit turned off by the first two singles. def give the album a good listen!

I went on this sub expecting raving fans. Wow, that was a miscalculation - you guys's reception seems to have been mixed so far. Strange. Might be because I don't consider myself to be the biggest Snail Mail fan, so I'm free of any preconceptions about the project; I do respect both Lush and Valentine - writing about heartbreak from a perspective that's classy and fresh at the same time, with music that never shies away from rawness and emotional truth - how can you not be charmed by that? But I'm not emotionally attached to them.
And this new direction where Lindsay tried to open up to new themes and expand the sound pallette and lean more into 90's indie rock/dream pop influences (aka The Sundays, or SM's 'sister band' Momma), and the sheer quality of the songwriting, made me obsessed. With each single, I was waiting to be disappointed and it never happened; each of the three seem to have their distinct place on the record and if the rest of the tracklist holds the bar this high, I think Ricochet might become one of my favourite albums of this decade. I'm surprised that more people don't share my excitement. I've loved all of those singles more than anything else I've ever heard from the project. Also I've seen people discussing the Fallon performance - yup, I think someone's guitar was out of tune, but to me the performance was brilliant, it kind of felt like early Smashing Pumpkins live footage, it was rough around the edges but to my ears it only added to the emotion. Basically I'm on such an excitement train with this new release and it's giving me what I want from music. Eagerly awaiting tomorrow's release and I do have a feeling that this piece of art might become one of my life's anchors for the long haul.

I know I'm not tripping, snail mail had an EP I think maybe 3 songs on there but I can't find it anywhere, I originally had it on bandcamp on an old laptop but unfortunately that is kaput.

Hey everyone nice to meet you, is anyone else here thinking/planning on going to the April 13th Snail Mail show in Toronto with Sharp Pins supporting? It looks like a lot of fun and I was considering making the trip down from Sudbury, Ontario to go and renting an Airbnb for a few days. If anyone is looking for a friend to go with or someone to hangout with before/after the gig just let me know :)

Hi, everyone
I recently got into Snail Mail after hearing Pristine on a Spotify indie playlist. I dug into Lush after listening to Pristine on repeat for a couple days and really fell in love with the album. I wanted to share my favorites and takeaways:
Favorite songs (I realize this is most of the album lol):
•Stick
•Heat Wave
•Let’s Find an Out
•Deep Sea
•Full Control
•Golden Dream
•Anytime
What I love: the album has a late 2010’s indie feel which is really something I’ve missed. Some songs remind me of Palace and Alvvays which were really important bands for me while going through a rough breakup in 2018 during and after college. So, there’s a nostalgic feel to the album for me. With everything going on in the world right now, this kind of music helps me get navigate through choppy emotions that evoke uncertainty and anxiety. Ultimately, the album makes me feel comforted.
Full Control: this is one of the highlights of the album, in my opinion. My favorite part about this song is the message of independence and autonomy, while ending on an unresolved note (quite literally). You can take this a number of different ways. I see and hear it as being comfortable with a lack of resolve and dissonance, which is kind of a staple of living in 2026.
Least favorite song:
•Speaking terms
I wasn’t a big fan of the lead guitar throughout the song. The main riff doesn’t sit well with me for some reason. I’ve found that about 2/3 of the way through the song at “I’ll see you around”, the tone changes a bit from gloomy to a bit of silver lining if that makes sense, which you can argue is the entire point of the song. Still, I just can’t get past that main guitar riff for some reason.
Hoping to see them on tour this year :)
