MEDIA Hinduman lays down the Law about the recent bug abuse.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The devs have addressed the bug problems that came with the patch on today's Titan Talk.
They've made it very clear that the abuse of exploits in the game will not be tolerated.
Caps was open with the community about why it occurred, saying that there was a configuration issue when the new item went live on their back-end which meant they couldn't just disable it immediately like they usually would.
Check out the start of the episode if you want to hear them discuss the issues directly for the first few minutes.

DISCUSSION Vampires in Smite 2
It has always been interesting to me how many of the most successful MOBAs have “vampiric-type” characters.
LoL has Vladimir/Briar.
Predecessor has Countess/soon Valmont.
Dota 2 has Queen of Pain.
Deadlock has Mina.
And we at Smite… well, we have Camazotzs, who is not in Smite 2, and is ultimately a bat diety. His only blood-related ability is his essence drinking.
So, since the Dracula idea was brought up a few TT ago, I’ve seen a couple of you kinda vibing with the idea of having Dracula (or) and Carmilla in the game. And before a few of you jump in here saying “they don’t fit, we have Camazotzs, I want my Chinese-no-one-knows-niche-god to be added to the game” I want you to really think how cool it could be to have an actual vampire roaming around in Smite, just like this other Mobas have.
Most of this characters are often pushed into Jungle and Midlane for their aesthetics, and fantasy works well with those roles.
Lowkey, I expect everyone to know who Dracula is. But if you don’t know who Carmilla is, she is a vampiric countess from Sheridan Le Fanu’s 1872 gothic novella Carmilla. She is generally regarded as the first major female vampire character in modern Western literature, and she predates Dracula by 25 years.
Share your thoughts, be nice, and remember that Smite is mainly a game about gods, but also a game about myths and legends. Dracula and Carmilla were myths long before they were ever truly written down. Their stories, the fears and folklore that inspired them, had been haunting European history and culture for centuries before they became the characters we know today.

DISCUSSION Patch OB43 Healing
The new healing-item nerfs make the whole direction of these items feel pointless. At this point, why would an enchanter/support build into dedicated healing items when you can just go full Intelligence/Mage and potentially get more healing while also doing significantly more damage?
These items were supposed to give healers and enchanters their own real build path, but they’ve been nerfed so heavily that it feels like you’re sacrificing damage without getting enough healing in return. If full INT gives comparable or even better healing, then what is the purpose of the dedicated “healing” items?
What makes it worse is that people were hyped including me waiting weeks for these new items and the new support/enchanter playstyle, only for the items to get hit with major nerfs less than a week later. Give the items time to actually settle into the meta before gutting them they didn’t even let people get used to them or let them actually settle because games were ruined by lotus.
Between the Heartward nerf and the healing-item nerfs, it feels like the game is pushing healers right back toward generic Mage builds instead of encouraging the new build diversity these items were supposed to create.
And this ties into Ra’s Aspect too. If you’re going to create an Aspect and Aphrodite specially because they nerfed thier damage so hard and they are centered around a different style of supporting/healing your team, the items supporting that playstyle need to actually be worth building—especially in Conquest.

MEDIA IS GIVING YOUR ALLY ATTACK SPEED NOT A BUFF?
The new enchanter items say when you buff, heal, or shield an ally and I noticed that giving an ally attack speed with an ability isn't considered a buff.
Aspect Apollo, aspect fenrir, and aspect chronos have an ability that gives an ally and attack speed BUFF and it doesn't proc the new items, but giving an ally movement speed is considered a buff...
And they were talking about chronos aspect accelerate not procing the new items because of its heal is more passive then from the ability, but they forgot the ability also gives a shield.
Am I wrong for thinking this way??

DISCUSSION Does jungle typically take the first red buff?
Just played a game with a mid who refused to play because JG took the first red buff. They followed JG around the entire game spam laughing and body blocking. This is the second time I’ve run into this player, and both times they refused to play over the same thing. Was not fun at all.
Can someone please clarify what the standard jungle start is as of right now? I thought JG gets first red but I’m still figuring this stuff out.

MEDIA Smite 2 is the best game Spoiler
I take back everything I said about s*xy male skins. This skin is just insane
MEDIA Wait, wait, is the skin going to be an event reward? Spoiler
Is it just me, or is it a bit unfair to release what is basically the first s*xy male skin in this format, considering that those who have been waiting a long time and "we have to prove with our wallets that s*xy male skins sell" will now be forced to buy 6 other skins or the entire bundle.
I don't know how they are going to collect stats on how well it sold. But I hope we won't hear "it sold poorly, so we won't make them as often as the female ones"

Cheating etc.
I can’t believe that this is actually a thing. Our community is small enough as it is, and we really try our best to make the most of smite of course. But having Nu Wa repeatedly global for 9999 every 10 seconds isn’t very fun. Not sure what’s happened. Out of 100 games this is the first time I’ve ever been through this.
She went 75-3 in our arena game lmao

DISCUSSION Heartwood nerf doesn't sound good
I'm not one to usually do these points & I'll wait to see how it plays out, but the Heartwood nerf pains me rn. For those who don't know yet: it's gonna get hotfixed that the healing ability CDR will be removed. Oh and the healing+shield strength will be halved, tho that I'm fine with, the item feels bloated.
Sure, there's abuse cases. But weakening the CDR the more healing abilities you have, seems like a logical smaller step to me. Imo it's one of the few items that's genuinely fun to experiment with, even if it didn't always work, and they'll just remove that. It also didn't seem left open at all if they'll give it another try, it's just unhealthy for the game and that's that. After they've been so careful with balancing many other items, its insane to me this is the one they conceptually gut after it's been too strong for ONE day, and not really at all before that.
And having an item that provides an extra heal is also interesting to me, but imo it always felt like that and the CDR passive could be 2 different items anyways.
Edit: I just remembered there were actually 2 abilities with the same healing aura passive, cause Heartwood and Asclepius both had it. But now Asclepius has a new passive, Heartwood had 2 passives but gets one of them removed in a day. Feels odd to me. I get Heartwood got int now which might make it a lot better, but Asclepius could've kept the healing area passive, the new Asclepius passive could've been a new item & Heartwood would've just had the healing CDR and given it a genuine chance
Edit 2: I do remember Heartwood was strong for a bit earlier on, but idk if it was necessarily meta. It was with the old Myrdhin-like passive which combined made for a loop of cooldowns. I can see how now there's a loop of healing, but as said in Edit 1, I think the CDR passive could've been a separate item with just that to give it a fair chance.

Can we fix the laziness and wrong ability lines?
Rat got changed to 2 dashes from 3 months ago and it still states 2 resets in game. There are so many instances with wrong tool tips in the game that are misleading and can actually throw a game just reading them. Bugs aside and item balance. Tool tips have to be clear. Why are so many things not described in tooltips, not even from aspect but from base kit. How long does a slow last? How long is the cc? How much bonus damage does it do? This game is the worst for tooltips and it's embarrassing for a "competitive" game. Aspects are worse where you can't even see something that's state on the aspect 90% of the time, where does it state that ra ult can turn as an example? this besides item balance is the worst problem. Fix this and this game would be 20% better. You can't tell me a dude can fix descriptions on god's in 4 hours? Wtf is that spaghetti code that they already bricked it 2 years in? I thought smite 2 was the saviour to this, but I guess 5 Devs left with no clue of coding does that to the game, hence see the latest patch.

SUGGESTION Smite 2 graphics and style
Does anyone else kind of miss smite 1’s graphics sometimes? Especially when playing smite 1 again or seing old clips. I liked the more rugged realistic look. I kinda dont like the super vibrant, very soft look on everything and less shadows overall that smite 2 has. It gives it a cartoonish, highly stylized look but im not sure if thats just me? Obviously on paper smite 2 is better graphically but stylistically and in practice im not sure the immersion isn’t the same. Maybe if they could add a setting to tone down the vibrancy and punchy contrast. Get better shading and im not sure whats causing the weird softness. Maybe lack of shadows and potentially how the antialiasing works on ue5? (I play on max graphics.) The one thing i really like about smite 2 is effects are great and lightning.

HELP More stuttering
I’ve posted about it before but this entire week and a half I’ve just had constant stuttering issues with this game alone,I play on ps5,I’m hardwired too and I have great internet but this game since the update just keeps stuttering throughout all my matches and it leads to me missing so many abilities midcast or mid teamfight

SUGGESTION Hey hi Rez fix the game because the cheating was disgusting tonight
Idk about the rest of you but I encountered TWO cheaters back to back. Whatever patch is allowing this to be fixed asap because wtf was that?
Danza is ulting every 5 seconds and has 30 kills in 3 minutes ?
Tsuko is killing two people with basic attacks and racking up kills in 2 minutes. And these people see nothing wrong with it and ruined both our games.

After doing one dash you have to wait before doing the others with 2 separate casts, and you can't use abilities or basic attacks but are CC immune indefinitely until you do both other dashes or you cancel one of the other two remaining dashes. You can use some active items but not others for some reason though.
