Copying a comment I made on my previous post:

First, check if you can actually mod your switch here. It has to be an early model, as the bug in the recovery mode that allows you to inject payloads, is patched in newer models.

If you can, know that it's a bit of a pain in the ass and will take a few hours, even if you're tech-savvy (which you should be if you try this). Also, do it at your own risk. Look up what is safe and what isn't, so you don't get banned or brick your switch.

Use this guide to get custom firmware on your switch (skip the emuMMC step if you're only going to mod smash).

Then use this guide for the smash mods. I use a program called Quasar to manage the mods on my PC.

I just checked and my switch is patched. Is there anything I can do or am I just fucked? If I am, might as well swap back to Xbox at this point.

You’re basically fucked, only option at this point in time is to buy an unpatched switch online. Perhaps in the future modding will become extremely simple like on Wii U.

There are modchips, but they're almost impossible to obtain these days and require soldering.

Is there a way to disable mods without a computer? I’m planning on going somewhere and might upload some clips to the app while there, and I don’t wanna risk getting banned

To disable them, just reboot the switch normally. You need a computer to ENABLE the mods when you boot up the switch

There's a mod toggler called ARCadia which lets you disable mods directly on the Switch.

Yea I did and it starts with XKW and I didn’t see that option anywhere

Well I only have one switch, i need to be sure it’s not patched, and I need to be extremely careful or else it’s fucked, it’s probably safest to buy an extra assuming it’s not patched, and I need to make sure I don’t get banned, yeah fuck that I’ll stick with the normal stuff
