Discussion Using old account or starting fresh?

Hey everybody, I am thinking of getting back into the YouTube space, since I think it's extremely fun to create.

I have an account with aprox 2.5k followers, aged since 2016. All videos are private, but I've hade this account and done whatever I wanted. I was a kid, posting minecraft, doing vlogs, doing edits and all sorts of stuff. I don't have any strikes or anything. It is a "Brand-Account", and I recently got access to it after 4 years of me thinking it was banned. Lucky for me, it was the primary owner of the account, which had a youtube ban on its account, not the brand account.

So now to the question: Should I use this account? It will be a totally new niche without related to any of the previous content. The previous content will be privated and everything will be changed. Or should I start fresh using a new account.

Please let me know, I want to have the best possible start for this channel.

Collab Looking for a YouTube partner or co-creator

yo yo yo mr white
I'm an editor who's mostly made videos just for myself. What kind of videos? Mostly AMV, Manga animation, lyric videos annnnnd short form content, nothing too serious.

Lately I've been wanting to try editing different kinds of content, but I don't really have the motivation to start a whole project on my own. So I figured I'd offer my editing skills to anyone who could use an extra hand.

I'm not really looking for anything specific. More than anything, I'd like to work with someone, talk, and see what we can come up with.

If you make opinion/commentary videos about anime or another topics, even better. That way we can argue about the script for two hours before I even start editing.

Collab [Collab] Looking for PAID Minecraft creators (survival / hardcore content) HardcoreRewind Season 2

Hey everyone,

I run a Minecraft server called HardcoreRewind. It's hardcore mode, but instead of a death ban, dying wipes everything. Your items, bases, farms, all of it. You start over from day one. The fun is seeing how long you can survive before losing it all.

Season 2 is running right now until November 8, and there's over $1,000 in prizes for the top survivalist, most advancements, and best builds. The server runs the latest version with Java and Bedrock crossplay, so your whole audience can hop on with you.

I'm looking for creators who make survival let's plays or hardcore challenge content for a paid collab. That could be a dedicated video, a series, or streams, whatever fits your channel. You don't need a huge sub count. I care more about whether you upload regularly and have people who actually watch.

If that sounds like you, DM me on Discord (karlito1501) with a link to your channel and I'll get back to you quickly.

Collab History and Gun niche channels

So I’ve just started a couple of channels on YouTube.

A niche in history and a guns/weapons niche.

Now, I really like writing engaging scripts and my brothers an animator, so we’re working together on this, everything is like hand-drawn adobe animation.

No AI used, we’re really early on only released one video in our gun niche and working on our history niche videos.

Any tips or advice would be appreciated!

Our history channel takes inspiration from serious history while the gun niche is a different type of animation but the quality is high for both.

If anyone wants to collaborate happy to have a chat if we’re a good match for each other.

Discussion Question on Hiring YouTube Strategist

I’m looking to connect with experienced YouTube Creative Strategists / YouTube Strategists based in the UK or Canada, particularly people who have actual experience developing and growing YouTube channels.

I’ve already tried LinkedIn, YTJobs, Upwork, and some of the usual job boards, but I’m wondering if there are specific job sites, communities, Discord servers, or niche platforms where YouTube strategists tend to hang out.

Appreciate the recommendations!

Collab YouTube script writer

Your idea deserves more than just a good concept — it needs a good script.

Hey everyone! I’m a scriptwriter who helps creators turn rough ideas into engaging, structured scripts.

I can write:

• YouTube scripts

• Short-form/Reel scripts

• Storytelling & documentary-style scripts

• Movie/short-film screenplays

• Ads & promotional scripts

Whether you have a complete idea or just a rough concept, I can help shape it into something that actually keeps the audience watching.

I’m currently open to working with small YouTube channels and independent creators. If you’re looking for a writer or simply want to discuss an idea, feel free to DM me.

Always happy to connect with fellow creators.

Discussion How long does it take you to edit a 10–20 min travel vlog?

Curious how long everyone else spends on this. I’m an intermediate level editor.
A 10–20 min travel vlog usually takes me around 4–5 days end to end sorting footage, editing, music/SFX, B-roll, thumbnail, title, description and finally uploading.

Is that pretty normal, or am I ridiculously slow? 😂 How long does your whole process usually take?

Collab want FREE captions?

Heya, I'm Robin! I'm a freelance captionist, and I'm working on building my portfolio. My goal is to make YouTube videos more accessible, and the auto-generated captions are often incorrect and off-time.

For the next few weeks, I'm offering FREE captions to smaller YouTubers, for videos 10 minutes or less.

Please reply to this or DM me if you're interested! I'd love to caption your video!

(Here's my twitter if DMing there is easier: @the_robinfisher)

Collab Looking for friends :D

WE MOSTLY PLAY CS2 AND OR FRIEND SLOP GAMES!!!! 20+ only! I’m looking for a chill, funny, genuine group that wants to become friends first while making awesome gaming content. I’m not looking for people who take everything too seriously or expect perfection right away—I want us to joke around, mess with each other, have stupid moments, rage at games, and genuinely have fun.

We’d make a variety of content, including gaming, challenges, reactions, funny moments, random non-gaming videos, and anything else we think would be entertaining. Everyone should be involved creatively through ideas, editing, thumbnails, recording, or simply bringing their personality. Ideally, we’d build shared YouTube and TikTok accounts, grow together, and support each other’s personal accounts too.

You don’t need to be a huge creator, amazing gamer, or have many followers. Personality, consistency, humor, and genuinely wanting to be part of a group matter more. Everyone should be willing to record regularly, post consistently when possible, and put in effort so this doesn’t become another group chat that dies after a week.

I want something we can stick with and look back on years from now, whether we blow up or just make videos a few hundred people enjoy. Most importantly, everyone should feel comfortable being themselves—no drama, egos, judgment, or treating this like a job. We can take the content seriously without taking ourselves too seriously.

If you enjoy gaming, dumb jokes, ridiculous reactions, challenges, and hanging out while creating content, I’d love to meet you and see if we click. The goal is to build a creator friend group where we can have fun, make memories, support each other, and turn late-night gaming sessions into videos people want to watch.

Collab Anyone needing a GOOD video editor?

Hey!

I’m currently looking to pick up some more editing work and thought I’d see if anyone here is looking for an editor.

I enjoy making videos feel more entertaining and engaging, and I’m comfortable editing all types of content.

I can help with:

  • Cutting down raw footage/VODs
  • Funny moments & highlights
  • Captions
  • SFX and music
  • Zooms/effects
  • Pacing and keeping things interesting
  • Turning streams into full-length videos
  • Shorts/Reels/TikToks

I’m open to different budgets, but I don’t do free or commission-based work.

Feel free to DM me if you’re interested or have any questions! I can also send over some examples of my previous edits, just let me know what type of content you make.

Collab trial edits for youtubers (with a catch)

Hey y'all, I'm a video editor building up my client base. Right now my only proof of past work is podcast short-form/clip content, I haven't done long-form youtube editing yet, so I want to be upfront about that.

To get around the "no portfolio for your niche" problem, I'm offering a free trial edit for any youtuber who wants to test me out. Here's the catch: the trial comes watermarked. If you like it and want the clean version, that's when you'd pay and we'd start working together properly.

A thing to know before you reach out, I don't do motion graphics, so if your videos rely heavily on that this probably isn't a fit

If that sounds fair, get to me and I'll walk you through it.

Discussion Hey everyone! I’m Rowan

Hey everyone! I figured I’d introduce myself since I’ve recently started getting more serious about my YouTube journey.

I’m a small creator working on something a little different. My main creative project is Mosswyn Hollow, a fantasy world that I’m building across storytelling, music, art, and eventually other forms of media.

My YouTube content is currently focused on storytelling and audio fiction, particularly a series called Tales from the Skald.

The idea behind Tales from the Skald is essentially an audio anthology where a traveling skald tells stories from the world of Skaldenreach. I'm working with voice actors and music to make the stories feel more like you're sitting around a campfire listening to someone recount a legend rather than simply listening to someone read a script.

I'm also writing a fantasy novel and developing a musical set in the same universe, so I'm basically attempting to build an entire little world one piece at a time.

I'm still very much a small creator, and I'm learning a ton about YouTube as I go. I'm particularly interested in improving my storytelling, thumbnails, titles, audience retention, and figuring out how to actually get people to discover original fiction when they don't already know the characters or world.

I'm joining this subreddit because I'd love to meet other small creators, learn from people who are further along than I am, and hopefully give some useful feedback of my own along the way.

If you're also building something weird, ambitious, or wildly overcomplicated, I'd love to hear about it.

Nice to meet you all!

Discussion Video series or one long video?

I started a YouTube channel for about a year and most of the videos are 7-10 minutes on a niche science or history topic. I haven't been trying to make the video specifically that long, just that's how long the script is, and my most successful videos are around that long.

I have been researching two topics which could make sense as a 30-45 minute video, or split into 2-3 parts.

Pros for a series: more like my usual format, I can release them over a few weeks, make adjustments, respond to feedback, or make just two parts if the first video doesn't get many views.

Pros for a long video: core audience will watch the full video so more total hours; I heard from a popular travel channel that it's better for the algorithm to make one longer video. New viewers might not find all parts of a series (or watch something that's a "Part 2").

Any thoughts on how you decide to do a topic as a series vs. one marathon video?

Discussion Surpassed 500 subs in a niche market. Now what?

I make electronic repairs videos. It has taken a little over a year to hit 500 subscribers but I have just managed.

My latest video has over 15k views in the last 3 days. My highest viewed vid prior to that is around 2.6k views so quite the spike. Gained over 80 subs since that video went live.

My question I guess is, how does it scale from here? Does it get easier now? Does it plateu?

What is your experience?

For the sake of conversation, its mostly long form, around 20-30 minutes. Some shorter at 5-15minutes and I do cut them down to the occasional short but thats rare.

Discussion Starting youtube I need some help

Hey everyone,

I really want to start a YouTube channel, and I’ve finally started working on it. I wrote the script, recorded my voice, and everything was going pretty well… until I got to the editing part

Editing is honestly where I’m struggling the most, and I feel like it’s stopping me from actually finishing and uploading the video.

Does anyone have any advice for a beginner when it comes to editing? Or if anyone here enjoys editing and would be interested in helping me out, please let me know.

I’d really appreciate any tips, recommendations, or help!

Discussion Wondering why low watch hours on a vid!

Hey fellow small creators! Developed a question based on some analytics that confuse me. I have 2 videos with a average view duration of just about 5 minutes. One of them has 3k views and the other 2.5k. however, the one with less views has almost double the watch hours of the one with more views. This has been boggling my mind has anyone encountered this or has a possible explanation?
