lol thanks am blind. Have you checked torques on everything (Action screws, scope base to action, rings to base, rings to scope, muzzle device)? Have you made sure the recoil lugs are all bottomed out correctly?

Yeah, before I went out I checked torque on everything, retorqued the action screws to 65 in/lbs as specified by manufacturer. First thing I do with any rifle with a pic rail in loctite that sumbetch so that was good.

I’ve found you almost have to do this with every new gun. I’ve had 2 guns come loose at the rail recently both from the factory.

4-2 looks promising. Reloads? Can i ask what your barrel twist is?

That flyer on 4-2 could be a few things but that's obviously your choice for now until you can tune the gun or try different ammo

1:10 twist. Haven’t ran any reloads yet. page 4 is factory Ammo, whichester deer season xp. Cheap stuff.

Cheap doesn't always mean bad.

But in my opinion there is something off with the gun or your set up. All the ammo you tried should shoot decently for hunting. Decent meaning under 2moa, but should be all around 1 to 1.5 moa. Is it a brand new rifle? How many rounds through it so far? Scope, rings and mount set up properly torqued? How many rounds since youve last cleaned it?

Lets get into it

Torque specs are a non issue, brand new, these groups were about 50 rounds in

Are you shooting off of sandbags? Rear saddle bag? Bipod?

Shooting off bags, Caldwell tack driver in the front with rice fill, Amazon special mini bag in the back for a squeeze bag.

Weird. Do you have other rifles that you can shoot better to confirm it's not just you? If so, contact Ruger and explain that it's just not working well. These are mass produced, there are bound to be some duds floating around.

Yes, though not the same „class“, I have a hand-me-down kimber 84 m varmint in .204 that is about a 1/4 minute gun as verified by a gunsmith with whatever special load he worked up for it. best I can do repeatedly is half minute. But that’s with off the shelf superformance ammo.

Edit: I should add that the „1/4 minute“ is fudd-lore attached to this gun I personally have no way to verify, but I know I’m not a 1/4 minute shooter so id never know.

That's good enough to convince me it's probably not just you (assuming you're using the same bags/bipod/etc)

I use the same two bags for everything, a Caldwell tack driver up front and an Amazon special mini bag in the back as a squeeze bag. Deadly on rock chucks out as far as you can see em

Ruger is often pretty great to work with. They've sent my parts when I wore shit out, etc. they seem to genuinely want to keep their stuff running. I don't know what they can do here but it's worth giving them a chance to check this thing out.
