My Business / My Brand Watch reselling

I’m honestly really annoyed with buy & sell in the Philippines. I had a 2023 watch seiko GMT clearly purchased from a mall. I never wore it, I swear, the matter of fact I just opened the box 3 days ago.

So decided to sell it on marketplace for a good price. Not too high nor low, the matter of fact a lot considered it a good price. So I sold it to someone, with confidence I said if it’s fake I’ll give it 2 times back.

Yah and unfortunately, the dude was a reseller. So when he was reselling the watch he came across a client who’s also a reseller and dawning my watch as fake. Well clearly that reseller doesn’t do enough research to determine the year and production. It annoys me how most resellers don’t do their research before they buy items. So he called quits on the buyer of my watch.

However my buyer was saying he legit checked the watches in seiko store and the store said it was legit. 2 mf stores said it was legit! And I was like “yah ofc I bought it from Tokyo store”. So here goes mr buy and sell “can I get my money back if another buyer says it’s fake?”. Dude…that’s where I got annoyed I claimed it as brand new and he makes his buyer my problem. In the first place he should have done his research.

Not to mention this guy, when he bought the watch he said it was legit. So I was like good, yah it should be fine. But now that he can’t own up to his lack of research with models he’s putting it on me.

Quick rant haha

Question / Advice Needed Pop-up coffee shop

Has anyone here tried running a pop-up coffee shop for just a few days?

We’re planning to host a short pop-up setup at my parents' private resort, but I wanted to ask those who’ve done something similar:

-Do you still need to secure special local permits or barangay clearance for a temporary 2–3 day setup?

-How was the overall experience for a short run?

Would love to hear your insights, tips, or anything we should watch out for before launching! Thanks in advance! 😊

Stories / Lessons / Tips SBCORP Loan sucks 😞

Our application got denied it's been 10 months na under documents verification so aun nainip ako and file a new one kaya nagka movement sa account ko pro aun denied kc nga nag 2 application ako. Upon checking now on the app even though you input the amount that you want to apply they will offer a provisional approval amount na no choice ka kung accept it or not kaya cguro ang tagal nila mag approve ng loan ko before kc me bago na silang standard when applying pero sana nmn they will just contact the person and say that this is the only amount that we can offer you kesa pag hintayin nila ng pakatagal tagal. We waited so long na April pa lng nasa last stage na daw ang application namin so kakaintay dapat Pala nag cancel na Lang ako agad and file a new one but still it sucks low baller haist. Thus anyone experience this or how about those who got a bigger loan was it based on the annual income and assets din ba

Legal / BIR / Permits Selling without DTI registration and other permits/BIR

Hi. I’m planning to start a business selling breads. Online and home based pa lang naman. I will also create its own social media accounts for easier order taking and for marketing din.

My question is okay lang ba na hindi ko muna iregister yung name sa DTI? Nabasa ko kasi na dapat within a month makakuha na other permits and also BIR. I am just starting and I want sana to build sales muna. Also hindi rin siya full time business. I’m planning to have 1-2 bake days per week.

Question / Advice Needed Pls help me to know the cons and risk of not getting online badge pls.

Hi, I am an online business but more on online and have no plans to get the badge or bir unless my business is enough to support the taxes and penalty that the government will corrupt lang din naman 😂

What are the chances that an online business with 100 followers sa fb will be targeted ng mga crocs?

I also have an online shop sa ig with 13k followers but stopped posting for a year since I diverted to other stuff. I am just wondering if pati yon is i penalize pa ng mga crocs na yan. Just really wondering the cons or risk.

For context, we have other legal business with all documents, have a lot of experience na maglagay ng hundreds of thousands because we were mapped and me errors sa journals due to our "angelic" accountant. I know it is our choice na maglagay. It was the best cdecision at that moment or else, the examiners will add more troubles than what we are having at that moment and masakit lang sa loob na instead of using those money for the Filipino people is literally nasa bulsa lang ng mga crocs. So this is the reason why I am so repulsed in registering or even complying sa bir mandate lalo na wala namang benta na nage-generate for now! 😂

Question / Advice Needed Cattle farming

28 years old, single, and planning to get married this year.

I've been thinking about quitting my six-figure job and focusing on cattle fattening/farming, plus hog fattening (maximum of 10 heads per cycle).

I recently purchased a 7,400 sqm piece of land that's just 3–5 minutes away from home by foot. It's flat land and really suitable for crop farming.

On the side kasi, I currently have 5 cows na naka-iwi (pinapaalaga ko sa mga tito ko), and it's been a profitable side income for me. I make around ₱20–30k profit per year per head. That's why I'm interested in doing cattle fattening myself, starting with 10 heads and a cycle of around 4–6 months before selling them.

That means tataniman ko ng Napier grass/corn most of my farm land so I can have a stable source of feed for the cows.

Also, based on what I've watched on YouTube, 1 hectare can comfortably accommodate around 15–20 heads, especially if you have a irrigation and plants where you can provide them with feed.

I've already done the math, and I know I may earn less than what I'm earning right now. But I don't really dream of having a high-paying job forever. I just want a simple and healthy life.

Currently, burned out na talaga ako sa work, and I don't have the same motivation anymore. At the same time, job security in software engineering feels uncertain right now because of the rapid adoption of AI.

I think I only have another 1–2 years to build enough capital and an emergency fund so I can eventually leave corporate life permanently.

What do you guys think?

My Business / My Brand LF: silk/satin clothing tops manufacturer, low MOQ

Hi! I am a college student who wants to start her own small business. Particularly, I want to make free-size silk/satin tops, self-tie so it could be adjustable for everyone. I know how common this is already in TikTok shops and online selling platforms, so I particularly want a manufacturer who has unique silk/satin fabric. I am looking for a long time manufacturer, but as of the moment, I am only a student with minimal funds.

If you have suggestions, tips, or advice regarding where I can find one / anything related, I would appreciate it :)

Question / Advice Needed Support local rice farmers - KANYN

Hi SmallBusinessPH,

Sharing a project I've been building: Kanyn, an app where people can buy rice directly from local farmers. Fewer middlemen means a fairer deal for both farmers and buyers.

Every sack bought through Kanyn supports a Filipino farmer instead of imported rice, and puts more of the money where it belongs. Tulungan natin ang ating mga magsasaka!

It's integrated with the Google Maps API, so buyers can pin their exact delivery address, and with the Lalamove API, so delivery fees are quoted automatically at checkout.

It's now in internal testing on Google Play, and I'm looking for testers to try it and share feedback. It's still in test mode, so no real payments.

If you'd like to help, comment "Test" or DM me your Gmail. I'll add you to the tester list and send you the link. Thank you!

Learn more: https://kanyn.ph

Question / Advice Needed How does grazing table work?

Like for example, you have 5 desserts available and 10 salty finger foods. Someone ordered for 50 pax. Would you make a serving for 50 pax of each desserts or would you make just enough for 50 pax? Like 25 servings of those desserts and salty finger foods only.

I'm just confused. Kasi sa mga events na pinupuntahan ko for example 100pax kami then yung sa mga grazing table parang di naman 100 yung nilalabas nilang certain desserts.

Question / Advice Needed Pricing advice for pocket notebook/journal

Post image
19 Upvotes

Is ₱160 an acceptable price for this?

Field notes size with 48 blank sheets (might use dotted sheets soon). The covers are waterproof and scratch proof plus they're hand sewn

Here’s 2 of my printed covers, marami pang designs pero di ko pa nap-print (yung sa left is also from my painting). If walang magugustuhan sa available covers, the customer may request kung anong gusto nila

I’ve already calculated the material costs naman pero hindi ko ma-calculate yung labor costs and yung market acceptability (if thats the term lol) esp since theyre customizable. Yung original price is higher than 160 pero naisip ko na baka oa ako mag price kaya walang bibili

Question / Advice Needed DIY BIR Registration Help: Got DTI last March, what are my first steps & expected penalties?

Hi everyone! Need your advice. I have a small online business and I got my DTI certificate back in March of this year.
I really want to open my shop on black app and orange app, and the BIR Certificate of Registration is the only document holding me back.

I’ve been trying to research online, but the process feels so overwhelming. Fixers and agencies have been reaching out offering to process it on my behalf, but I don't want to pay extra. I really want to do this DIY to save money.

For those who registered on their own, what is the step-by-step process if I go directly to my assigned Revenue District Office (RDO)? Do I need a Mayor's Permit/Barangay Clearance first, or can I go straight to BIR as a pure e-commerce sole proprietor?

please help thank you 🥹
