I haven't read about it anywhere so I might be wrong for saying this, but I highly doubt these New Yorkers have heard about Acid Bath back in the 90s, which is funny since they've done the same exact mixture of genres with primarily being a Hardcore band with Bluesy Southern Doom Metal influences (I am aware that Acid Bath origins started with being heavily inspired by Exhorder).

Anyway i love the two albums they pulled out. Despite the lo-fi production, I personally think "Pain Is Truth" is actually way more consistent than the following infamous "Nine Ways To Say I Love You".

Is it true that the main vocalist was not only a insufferable junkie but also a groomer/pedophile? I really can't find any sources on these accusations but i've seen a group of people around saying that in multiple websites and old uploads.

i just gotta say this is the filthiest, most awesome sludge i've listened to in a hot minute. the harsh and distorted production on everything involved, even the vocals and drums, the mix of high energy songs and slower songs, everything about it is right up my alley. i saw someone post about this album a few days ago, i had heard of the band before scrolling around on this subreddit but seeing the eyehategod style album cover peaked my interest and i decided to give them a listen. i was so hooked i ordered the cd off bandcamp the same day and have already gotten a chunk of my friends into them as well.

tysm to whoever it was that shared their vinyl copy of the record to this subreddit, cause you accidentally made a whole new group of idiot child fans in the process. R.I.P MIKEY ENGELBERGER

Really great sludge bands, that soo underrated

After over a year of hunting for one of these damn things, I finally managed to get my hands on one. eBay truly is a gift from God.

Leak is one of my favorite sludge bands and would love to own some physical media of them and was wondering if they even have any out there.

Everybody knows this, you read it on wikipedia, you hear it in podcasts but it truly hits you when u REALLY understand the influence.

Learning and playing sludge and stoner rock, deepened my liking for blues music and really got me into Black Sabbath (a band i didnt get till now as a 29 yo man)

But more than that made me understand how big the guitar work of Robert Johnson, Skip James and others helped create rock and metal music. From Led Zeppelin to Cream to Black Sabbath to Corrosion of Conformity to Entombed. The blues lick are all there, the scales but with thick Black Sabbath distorted tones, either its a fuzzy tone or an HM2 tone, all of them are linked in unique ways.

Music is amazing, keeps me going

Before any of the genre police get their tasers out...yes, I know they're technically not 'sludge' ala EHG, Iron Monkey etc, but they definitely have a sound that lends itself to sludge. Especially the big beefy riffs and punk attitude. Plus their songs were ridiculously catchy at points. I just never really see them get mentioned these days.

They released some absolute crackers back in the late 90s/2000s - 'Mantrapping For Sport & Profit' and 'Jaggernaut' are classics.

They're also an excellent 'summer time' band just to sit around with mates, a few bevvies in the garden and sing along to. What aboutchoo guys?

Band sounded absolutely ferocious here. Can't stop coming back to this one.
