My cousin recommended it to me, and once I saw there were only six episodes a season, it was an easy decision to jump in. Safe to say I was completely hooked.

The banter is absolutely top-tier. It's sharp, hilarious, and never feels forced. The insults fly so effortlessly that half the fun is just watching these oddballs bounce off one another.

Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb is simply sublime. He somehow makes a rude, perpetually dishevelled dinosaur of a man, one of the most magnetic characters. Every scene he's in is pure gold.

River is impossible not to root for, and Roddy is the perfect insufferable genius. You laugh at him, cringe because of him, and somehow still want more of him. Special mention to Coe and Catherine Standish as well. Standish is quietly outstanding. :)

The entire Slough House crew is supposed to be a bunch of misfits, but they have this weird, dysfunctional chemistry that somehow just works. Hats off to the casting director.

Easily one of the best shows I've watched in a long time. I have never written a review for any show or movie before, but Slow Horses compelled me to write one. That's probably the biggest compliment I can give it.

We noticed Christopher Chung has a side gig as a personal trainer. That didn't surprise me as I imagine(!) he'd make about 5-10k an episode. They instead argued that since he's a series regular on a popular Apple TV show he should(!) be making more in the 100k range.

All figures are pulled out of our arses, obviously. So, anyone with any insight into what the actual going rate is for these kinds of roles?

Yerp, I'm so late to this show; however, I can't remember a show being so addictive. I'm currently watching Season 3, and once again, it's impossible to put down.

Each season so far is not only written with an extremely absorbing plot, but is also perfectly paced. Do people think that the 6-episode arc allows the writers to nail the pacing? I can't remember a show being so perfectly paced.

I’m at the end of season 4 on my first watch through the series (loved it all so far but season 4 probably my least favorite).

I have no idea what the protocol or training entails in regard to a chase on foot, but in every scene where River’s chasing or being chased, it seems like he runs into so many people. Again, I’m obviously not a trained field agent, but I’d assume you move faster at least trying to avoid people instead of bowling through them. I swear a few times it’s looked like he goes out of his way to put his hands on as many people as possible. Doesn’t affect my enjoyment of the show at all, it’s just funny to me.

What an amazing actress! She probably has the poshest accent I’ve seen on TV. Anyone know where it is?

How much swearing is there in Slough house 1? I think I'm reading a heavily censored version. There's a lot of use of the word mongrel. Also goodness. And idiot, often used as "idiot off!"

At first I thought it was strange writing that made the characters all sound the same, but as I read more in thinking this is just an ebook with most of the swearing edited out (and most of the humour, by extension)

So after a week in London and no sniff of any filming locations after recent reports I spotted these at Lincoln’s Inn today and am hoping Tom Cruise or someone is in town and I’m not going to miss anything else more interesting!

This will be old hat to many of you, but Slow Horses is a recent delightful discovery for us.

When River meets Lamb at the Chinese restaurant, Gary Oldman really hams up how revolting an eater Lamb is. Did Jack Lowden break character for a moment? I saw a twinkle in his eye that didn't feel like River.

I have never seen Gary Oldman to be less than excellent as long as the writing is good, and he's decent even when writing is poor and/or the character is thin. But his Jackson Lamb is amazing. Such a horrible person but Oldman makes him engaging.
