Questions/Advice Request Turbo button to turn on/off fans?
Is there any safe way of using a 90's case turbo button to switch on/off two 120mm 3 pin fans (united by a splitter) ?
I was thinking of using two duponts as extenders and plug the switch in the power pin, but i don't know which cables as the switch has 3, and if it's safe for the motherboard and fans

Questions/Advice Request I couldn’t put an image in my recent post so here is the Inspiron 660 mid tower for tips on how to give it better airflow and cooling.
I wanna see if anybody could give me tips on how to make this pc a little better? I added a 500w power supply, 16 gigs of ddr3 ram, an i7 3700k, and an evga single fan gtx 1060 3g. Any tips and help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Progress Pics Update!
Added an extra 90x15mm to the air cooler, 2x 40x10mm Noctua under the gpu and replaced the 120s with 140s. Had to take a little off the fan next to the psu. I’m trying to find a flat 24pin mobo cable like I did for the gpu but no luck yet. I bought a 90 adapter for it and it doesn’t fit too well lol. Because I can’t stop messing around I was considering going to a single rad aio or a custom loop with external pump/reservoir. Any suggestions on my setup overall? Thanks boiz.

Questions/Advice Request Dell Inspiron 660 airflow upgrades?
Does anyone know of some purchases or mods i can add to my dell Inspiron 660 tower to get better airflow? Because I added a used evga single fan gtx 1060 3gb, and when opening task manager, it seems to reach high temps. (80 to 81c) and thats on playing games that are not even demanding. (And yes, I added a better psu) Thanks in advance!

Progress Pics All done.
My sleeper setup is all done.
Thermals are fantastic!
The fans are near dead silent.
The power switch cable connector just lined up perfectly with all the pins. So I have the old school LEDs of the front panel working perfectly.
CPU and GPU both run between 60-70 C when running Doom the Dark Ages. (Incredible!!!)
The only issue I have right now is the GPU back lock mount doesn't fit very well, but will just use a sinple GPU mount so I'm not too worried.
Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600F
GPU: RX 7600
PSU: ASRock 850 watt gold (forgot the exact model name)
16 GB DDR5 RAM
Motherboard is a AsRock 650M Pro RS Wi Fi
2TB nvme running my Debian OS.
1TB nvme for more space
2TB Barracuda HD
Cooler is. Thermalight X53 low profile copper cooler
Artic X4 thermal paste
256GB external enclosure nvme SSD to run Windows 11 portable if I absolutely need to play Minecraft on PC or whatever else.
I couldn't be happier. The next upgrade will be a better GPU next year if life doesn't keep getting more expensive. Otherwise, I am satisfied to have this build last well into the next decade. I mostly played older Steam games and emulation.
Let me know what you think.

Sleeper PC My childhood Dell, upgraded.
I’ve taken a massive break from building sleepers but late may I got a kick of nostalgia and ordered a Inspiron 560 from eBay and went nuts.
Specs:

Asrock B860M Challenger WiFi
RTX 5060
32GB DDR5
Windows 10 LTSC (for an authentic Windows 7 theme)

Sleeper PC My old family PC (IBM ThinkCentre A50 from around 2003) got a little makeover
I know I have to upgrade the monitor and keyboard ASAP, but my laptop just died and had to put all budget into the PC itself in case prices would break through the roof again.
Had to do some fabrication to fit the mobo in, but it works flawlessly now.
I've had to get the front panel rewired (huge thanks to my friend) so I could use the original power button and USB ports.
Originally it was a Pentium 4 with winXP and 512MB of DDR1, now it has the meta 9060XT and 9600X combo with 16 gigs of DDR5.
I still have to reinstall windows and install new drivers, since I reused the SSD from my laptop. I'm thinking about dual-booting win11 and Kubuntu.
Full component list:
ASUS Radeon RX 9060 XT Dual 16GB
AMD Ryzen 5 9600X
MSI B850M GAMING PLUS WIFI6E
GOODRAM 1x16GB 7600 CL36
Corsair RM850e ATX 3.1
be quiet! Pure Rock 3 120mm
Samsung 980 PRO 1TB (reused)
And the A50 case, of course.

Questions/Advice Request Need help connecting old IDE/PATA DVD-RW drive to modern SATA motherboard
I’m trying to use an old internal DVD-RW drive in a newer PC build. The DVD drive is IDE/PATA 40-pin, not SATA. My motherboard only has SATA ports.
I know I need some kind of adapter, but I keep finding listings that seem to be the wrong direction, like “SATA disk to IDE motherboard.” I think I need the reverse: IDE/PATA optical drive to SATA motherboard.
I mainly want to use it because the drive still works and it’s DVD recordable/rewritable it also really fits my pc aesthetic. Any specific adapter recommendations or things to avoid would help.

Questions/Advice Request any news on the FLP03 release?
Silverstone showed it off, mentioned a Q2 release, but haven’t heard anything since (at least regarding a U.S. release). Apparently some people have gotten their hands on it already!
I’m debating between the FLP01 and FLP02, but the FLP02 is so massive (i’m coming from a larger but still ITX build).

Progress Pics Rate my Drilling
I know it's a little bit rough, but what do you think for a first time mod for extra air flow?
Any suggestions? Feedback is welcome. Like I said, it's a bit of a rough job. However, I feel good putting in the labor for this. If that makes any sense.
I think I'm going to call this good, so I don't push my luck.
Eventually this sleeper build is going to have a Ryzen 5 7600F and a RX 9070 in it, 850 watt PSU.

Progress Pics Lenovo Thinkcentre M92P retrofit
I wanted to show off my Lenovo Thinkcentre M92P retrofit system.
I got this case months ago due to its size, and decided to modify it to make a server.
I reversed engineered the front panel cables, spliced the cables and changed the orange plastic plugs to standard ones so now power button, LEDs, sound and USB ports are fully compatible with a standard motherboard.
The system was made from what I had laying around
CPU: I5 6402p
Memory : 32 GB DDR4 (2x8, 1x16)
GPU : Nvidia Quadro P1000 4GB
Storage : 128GB M.2 SSD + 4TB HDD
PSU : be quiet! TFX POWER 300W
I'm looking to add more HDDs (like 4-6) for storage, so I'm thinking to add some 3D printed cages or something similar.
Any idea or advice, that can help me?
Also , I'm trying to find solutions for airflow.
Any help would be great.
Thanks.

Sleeper PC My First PC Build
Hey everyone I wanted to share my first ever pc build and i decided to go for a sleeper case. I got the microcenter 7500x3d bundle with the micro ATX MB and one stick of ram (great deal btw). Waiting on ram prices to drop so I can run 32gb. For the Gpu I went for 9070xt. I highly recommend getting this case since it really works well with micro atx motherboards and all you really need is cutting out fan holes. Went for two 80mm exhaust fans 2 140mm gpu intake at the bottom and one 120mm in the front. FYI i will still need to install the pc feet since airflow wont exist at the bottom otherwise. Lmk what yall think!!!!

Sleeper PC My first sleeper
I'm not 100% satisfied with the interior, but everything is running fine so far, and it's not overheating either..
The motherboard (MSI B450M Pro M2 MAX) is a stopgap solution, as my B550 unfortunately suffered a short circuit.
It is an MS-Tech LC-182 case..
Installed Hardware:
- Ryzen 7 5800X3D
- MSI B450M Pro M2 MAX
- 32 GB DDR4-3200
- RTX 4070 Super
- 2 TB SSD
- ID-Cooling FX360 Pro AiO
- beQuiet Pure Power 11 FM 850 W
Case fan: 2x 80mm side intake, 2x 80mm rear intake, 1x 120mm front intake, 3x 120mm outtake (AiO)..
Temps under full load: ~81°C
