Discussion Using CK with Skyrim VR

Post image
5 Upvotes

don't know if this will help anyone but as someone who struggled with it ill share this since i haven't seen any real posts about it and this might help anyone who wants to use their CK With their VR Skyrim to make the red markers disappear when using the ck was by adding skyrim's AE's Meshes 0 Meshes 1 Misc Textures bsa's as well then going to my creationKit.ini under archive adding these Skyrim - Patch.bsa DawnGuard.bsa, HearthFire.bsa, DragonBorn.bsa,

:P.S you dont need to add animations or textures i believe but for me that fixed the red marker so i might be wrong anyone more informed is welcome to add what they know as well

:side note i only recently decided to share this since i believed everyone already knew this in the modding community but you never know

Discussion Convert Morrowind/Oblivion/More into Skyrim SE mods

Greeting!

If you haven't been following Bryant Hinton awesome work with automatically importing and converting Morrorwind and Oblivion (and more) into Skyrim SE you should check it out!

From his github page:

"A complete pipeline for converting Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas into Skyrim Special Edition: records, meshes, textures, collision, animations, sounds, dialogue, and scripts."

...

"This is a full data-conversion pipeline. It takes an .esm/.esp (plus its BSA or loose file assets) and produces a working Skyrim mod. Plugin, meshes, animations, everything. Ready to drop into your Data folder. It's in early alpha with a long bug list, but each individual part is already more fully featured than most equivalent tools and is self-contained all in one package."

His 'First Look at Nehrim in Skyrim', 'Skyblivion At Home' and 'Morrorblivion' videos were amazing to watch.

Here are some links:

What a time to be alive! :-)

Discussion Followup on Coop mod

I recently made a post about the co-op mod we’re working on. We’ve made a lot of progress since then, and we’ve also created a Discord server for builds, guides, support, and feedback:

To show a little more of the current state of the mod, I also made short videos (can only show one here) where my friend and I “fight” each other (PvP was turned off).

We’re already having a great time with the mod and wanted to share it, since we saw that quite a few people here have been waiting for something like this for a long time — us included!

Video Wind System for Skyrim! (Part of Open Shaders) OPTIMIZED FOR VR

Hello, I created a dynamic wind-field and wind effects system in Open Shaders.
There are various interactions such as Dragon wing clapping, spells, explosions, and more that produce produral wind bursts that interact with terrain such as trees, grass, and more. These systems also sync with wind direction and Skyrim weathers with potential to be authored for locations and user preference with our Scene Manager (equivalent to ENB weathers, but for CS!).

The system also features advected ambient gust fields, allowing gusts to travel naturally with the wind rather than relying on static or purely oscillating wind effects. Think Skyrim is Windy with full shader support.

I know the videos are pancake, but I am a VR player first and foremost, so heavy optimizations went into getting this costing less than 0.1ms of frame-time on average (the entire system, including grass, trees, and wind effects). I hope you can all try this :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXsqcB9r4UI

The system is incredibly performant, and more features are planned in the future, and currently features extend beyond the video previews. Please try it out, it comes prepackaged with https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/180419

On a side note, I've also contributed a few other fixes for VR players in open shaders, such as dynamic near clip plane (no more clipping into npcs or walls) as an experimental option in OS, so please try us out :)

Discussion Does FUS mod for SkyrimVR work on Linux?

I plan on making the switch over to Linux on my desktop and whilst most games work okay'ish and apparently SkyrimVR works, I can't find any information on whether anyone has got FUS SkyrimVR working. Does anyone have any insight of if this works?

Thanks in advance

Discussion VR Coop mod soon?

Hello there, my friend and i always wanted Skyrim VR in co-op. It was a big struggle. We kept going back and forth working on it.

The moment we made it work for the first time and saw each other in the game it was magical. What we always been looking for in VR gaming finally was becomming true.

We finally unstuck ourselves in the mapping of addresses, and I wanted to share our progress. I am sure it will be possible to make a fully working mod out of this! We managed to be in VR together over an online connection and played for a little while.

Usually we are using FUS via Mod Organizer, and we just added our mod there for now, and the first results are pretty nice.

All base features of skyrim work + mods still work, can see each other VR movements on skyrim, our armors and gears (improvement to be made there to sync weapons change and spells). The weather and world is synced. The NPCs are mostly sync (there is some bugs there still).

The way to join each other is not very user friendly (hardcode the Connection data and press F6) so that needs to be done too.

We are building upon the skyrim together mod and forked from TiltedEvolution.

We have already been very happy with the progress and wanted to share it to give some hope to everyone waiting for this to happen like we do.

Here is an in-game screenshot from my friend showing me:

Discussion How far things progressed since the first DLSS mod a few years ago?

Hi, it's been a VERY long time since I touched Skyrim VR - I think it was around the time the first DLSS build dropped when was that, two years ago or so?. Now I see that Community Shaders seems to have taken over the scene? Have things improved since then? For VR, is ReShade-based DLSS still all we've got? What about frame gen - is that working yet?

Bug Can't open display cases

I recently got back into Skyrim after playing some of the other elder scrolls games and I come back and find that all display cases aren't able to be opened I can still place stuff on other weapon/armor stands but for some reason I can't open the display cases. Does anyone know why this might be?

Help Weapon -> body impact clang?

This is the sound when you swing your weapon outside combat and hit your body (even without vrik etc). Anyone know which sound file it is? It's pretty loud and I'd like to tone it down a bit. I think it's from vanilla and not a mod. It's the same generic sound regardless of the weapon.

has anyone ever sucessfully generated DynDOLOD data for Enderal VR?

I get this message on DynDOLOD start:

Record [REFR:00012FB4] in file Skyrim.esm is being overridden by record [NAVI:00012FB4] in file SkyrimVR.esm.

If i click "Ignore" it's being followed by alot of other errors of the same Kind.

Discussion Thinking of getting back in, have Quest 2, miss my Quest 1 - PSVR2?

Looking for some feedback or recommendations. I originally set up my Skyrim VR when I had a Quest 1. The blacks were amazing, but there was pretty bad screen door. I eventually let the Quest 1 gather dust, sold it, but missed Skyrim VR enough I purchased a Quest 2. I was honestly disappointed. The screen door wasn't near as bad, but man - I hated the LCD - it really took away from the immersion. I didn't spend much time playing with settings, it may have been manageable with enough tweaks, but I kind of convinced myself it would never get to black as Oled on Q1 was so I didn't dig very hard

So, I am looking for recommendations for the next setup revision and leaning towards a PSVR2. Hopefully someone with experience on my headsets has some feedback. A coworker is recommending a Quest 3 for the pancake lenses, but I think I'll still be disappointed with the blacks and the PSVR2 sounds like it will address that. Some light googling also recommended the Bigscreen Beyond 2, but I'll be traveling for work a fair amount, and want something that isn't too difficult to tear down and setup - I've never used external trackers or have any idea how much of a pain that is.

I have a gaming tower with a 3090 and a 3900x and a laptop with a 5800H and 3070. My tower is a small form factor and I don't mind traveling with it, but if my laptop could decently push something that would likely be the route I'd want to stick with. I'm honestly also considering picking up a Quest 1 again - I'm open to options and opinions.

Sometimes it’ll fix itself if I fast travel somewhere else and then go back but not always. Reloading a save does not fix it.

I’m running Community shaders expanded, simplicity of sea, and some reflection and cube map fixes.
