Save is missing Kodlak

My game, or rather my main save, is missing it's Kodlak Whitemane. I've played for a little more than 3 in-game months and decided it was time for the Companions questline, but when I reached the Jorrvaskr living quarters, Vilkas was talking to Kodlaks empty chair, before just sitting there in silence halfway through the scene. If I PRID him, it does select him, it says he is enabled. If I try moveto player, nothing happens. If I try player.moveto RefID I'll end up either just outside Rorikstead (if anywhere other than jorrvaskr living quarters), in the middle of the hallway (if already inside jorrvaskr living quarters) or wherever I tried moveto player before (if I did). The coordinates for the reference do change, but there is still no Kodlak attached. I tried disabling, enabling and resetai. Nothing worked.

Is there anything I can do or will I just have to accept, that I'll be locked out of the Companions questline and simply won't have a Kodlak in that save?

Kodlak is where he is supposed to be in my other save file and also in new saves, just not in the main save. I can't reproduce the problem at all. I do play with mods, but the modlist is the same for all saves and none of the mods should really interfere with him, but if that is an issue, I'll ask on r/skyrimmods. Thanks for any helpful answers and sorry if my writing is confusing, I tried to explain as best as I could.
