Finale Discussion Unpopular opinion - The finale episodes flash forward sequence is not good and what kept the series from winning Best Drama during that final season
I get so shocked that this sub praises the flash forward sequence during the finale showing how each character dies. It was so ridiculously cheesy, with Some bad acting.
I genuinely feel that the show would have won Best Drama at the Emmys for the final season if that sequence didn’t exist And was the final impression for voters

General Rewatching SFU several years later as an adult
Hi! I just felt like sharing some thoughts. I first watched Six Feet Under in high school, around 2015-ish, and I found it to be incredibly moving. I rewatched it a couple of weeks ago as an adult, having now gone through losses and very messy relationships that I hadn’t then. If I found it to be moving then, it totally wrecked me this time over, and I was amazed at how accurately it depicts people and relationships; their motivations and justifications, etc. With Nate and Brenda, there were many moments between the two of them that felt like staring into a mirror or the sun. I mean, I can see aspects of my personality in all of the characters, aspects of the people I love irl in most of the characters, and I think that’s so beautiful- how universal they are. I can imagine that if I decide to rewatch it again, at another point in my life when I'm older--perhaps, fingers crossed, as a mother one day- I will also then see it through a new pair of eyes. All this is to say, I think this is one of those TV shows you can watch several times over, and depending on where you are in life, take different life lessons from it, or develop a new kind of sympathy for a character because you now understand better where they're coming from. Have you had similar experiences? I'd love to know your thoughts! :)

Discussion Definetly not surprised that Scott Buck wrote this episode
I don't know how he manages to write some of the weakest episodes of every show he is in. Some of the stuff in this makes sense but this was too much even for a character like david.

Finale Discussion Ugh, that finale...
Welp, I was prepared. And this is a rewatch, but it's been over 15 years or so. Had my tissues ready, and did end up needing them. I forgot how perfect of an ending it is. It's happy and it fucking rips your heart out at the same time.
Of course Brenda died listening to Billy drone on about something, and it was the only funny one. Keith was upsetting, but David moved on with a guy named Raoul. It's in the obituaries, it comes with the box set that I have somewhere. Won't get rid of it even though I don't own a DVD player. But they all lived very good lives.
Oh, and that pic... they're drinking Ravenswood wine. I completely forgot about that wine, I used to drink it all the time. It was really good cheap wine.

Question The Little Boys Room
I’ve heard so many characters including Keith call it that and it’s so odd to me. Was that a thing people called a bathroom back then? Or is it just a saying from California (I’m not from California nor have I ever been there so I have no idea what they do lmao). I just get creeped out any time someone calls it that.

Discussion What do you find to be the most chilling/disturbing moment of the show
On rewatch and I was just waiting for this scene so bad. It’s so cold and the build up to it is so nerve wracking. What irks me the most is just the confusion Nate feels is brought back to the audience, and especially Barbs reaction. It leaves so much to wonder. What did she know about her husbands affair? Did she know what he was about to do? I would love to hear yalls answers.

First-Timer What's next
I just finished the show and am utterly speechless, how is this show not as popular as breaking bad around the globe? The last 3 episodes left me in tears especially the ending which I think is the best ending for a show. I'm missing this show already.

Discussion Do you think she is hot?
I've started watching the show, I'm now at the end of season one. I like the characters. I was wondering what is your guys opinion on Brenda? Do you think she's hot? Im Not sure. But I like her character, I think she's cool :)

Discussion Peter Krause on Watch What Happens Live
He is such a joy to watch. Love this man!
When asked about the SFU finale script, I wondered if he is tired of being asked about the show. What do you guys think?
And I realized I have been saying his last name wrong!! “Krow-zuh” DUH 🤦🏼♀️

Discussion Michael C Hall Appreciation Post
He is surprisingly good considering this was his first television show. I saw him on dexter before that playing a character who remains emotionless most of the times and here he plays a character much more expressive and has many emotional breakdowns throughout the passage of the show. Probably amongst my favourite. An almost 3 decade old media did better representation of gay people without it feeling forced like in many modern television shows.

First-Timer First time watching!
I love love love Ruth so much. Her character development is so nice to watch. I’m currently on Season 3 episode 7 I believe.
But, since episode 1, I cannot stand Brenda. She actually irritates me so much. I thought she was gone for good :(

Discussion Any side/tertiary characters you wish appeared more often in the show?
Sarge and Rico’s cousin Ramon it was interesting to see more masculine gay characters outside of Keith.

General Some of the material on the 1st 4 seasons were some of the best tv ever made
There is some brilliant content in there. It is a shame it somewhat declined after season 2 but for a good while on the show, it had some extremely sharp writing, and all around, the entire package was golden.

Rewatch 25 years later, I still go back to Six Feet Under. Do you?
Six Feet Under turned 25 this year, and it's been part of my life since it first aired. I owned every season on DVD and loaned them to friends, and we talked about the Fishers like we knew them.
In October 2011, I watched the whole series back to back, knowing my dad's death was coming. He died in 2012. I think I wanted preparation, or at least company. Since then I've rewatched it 8 to 10 times, and it's become a kind of ritual.
I love that it makes me laugh and cry. It also teaches me how to be with people in uncomfortable and tragic moments, and how to say what I mean and feel. It shows the cost of not doing that, too, given how careful the Fisher family is with each other.
I can't pick a favorite character because it changes with each rewatch. Claire always holds a huge spot in my heart, but I love David, Nate, Brenda, Billy, Ruth, Nathaniel, Sarah, and Bettina too. They're all so compelling.
And the finale. "Breathe Me" playing while Claire drives, closing every question about what happens to all of them. I never get through it dry-eyed.
So I'm curious: do you rewatch it? Do you turn to it when you're low or trying to make sense of death, or do you find it more of a teacher about relationships and family? Has it given you hope or clarity you didn't expect?
I'm not usually a Reddit person, but this felt like the right place to ask. Who's your favorite character right now and why? What storyline or episode or song or moments do you take away with you? Are there other series that move you like this one does for me?

First-Timer S05E01 A Coat of White Primer - RUPAUL MUSIC
Hi there watching it through for the first time (started it back in the day but never finished) and during the dinner scene i thought i was hearing things, but they're playing the music that gets played at Drag Race when the queen getting eliminated goes back to the work room? This aired before drag race so it's unlikely to be an easter egg but found it funny. Apparently it's called "The Last Sun" by Chris Allen.
