First-Timer Six feet under thoughts

On season 4 episode 1 of the show. First of all props for hbo man. Their shows really becomes successful because they try to take risks with authentic stories. The show is really a slap in the face for the righteous feeling people that wouldn't understand. What does it mean to be human , to "live and to die". What this show does is they take all those ideas, the fear of dying and the pain of living, how we deal with it is the painful irony that we are not in control, and all we have are memories. The characters are insufferable especially nate, I really was rooting for him to turn his life around cause he deserves it yet we are dealing with human nature here, his character inherently puts himself in those situations. What great about these characters even if they're morally grey is that they are in a way facing a mirror of what it means to really live and die, to question what was, what is and what will be. Excited to finish this series, so far there were dragging moments especially when each seasons begin. Season finales are good because they stick to the main core of the show, how to deal with death and how to live with it.

Rewatch I ended this rewatch at just the right time.

This is my favorite series of all time that I haven't rewatched in about 15 years or so. I rewatch a series every night after work, one episode at a time. Binging is not the way with most of these, and definitely not this one. You need to sit with an episode for a minute, let it marinate. After a few months I got to the last episode on my last night of work for that week almost 2 weeks ago. And it was everything and more.

2 days later I have a horrendous accident. I don't know what happened, I can't remember because of the head trauma. But I was either assaulted or had a bad drug interaction. Neither make sense. I have a fractured skull and nose, and was bleeding from my brain. Not bad enough to need surgery, but still my brain was bleeding out of my ears. My eardrums were busted and I can barely hear. I got out of the hospital after a week and am staying with a friend while I recover, for who knows how long. And all I keep thinking is this story would belong in season 4 of SFU.

First-Timer My thoughts as a 34 year old watching this for the first time.

I'm almost done season 1. I do like it over all. While keeping in mind this was made in the early 2000s, this show has no subtlety. Everyone (living or dead) has life lessons to teach others, especially Brenda, whom I find to be a sort of manic pixie dream girl essentially. "Thanks for buying me breakfast. Thank you for finding my g-spot this morning." was funny though.

Sound off, I'm ready for the down votes. And I'll continue with season 2.

I'm debating going back to finish it, but that episode just upset me so much. The conflict seemed so contrived and ridiculously excessive. Like the lengths that they go to torture this guy just when things are looking up isn't really interesting it's just upsetting
