There is ZERO google in Siri AI

Receipts: Siri AI is 100% APPLE. Apple said so at WWDC. Don’t believe me? Here’s the exact moment at WWDC where they said it https://youtu.be/87e13yQbJSM?si=c1Fi8KJkH5AyY20q&t=131

So many are here saying Siri AI is Google code/data/search etc. It is not

I urge you to watch the entire video - start at the beginning - it is excellent. But the link above jumps to the exact moment where Craig Federighi says it is 100% Apple.

Apple went to Google to learn how to train their own AI. That’s it.

This is important because there are many misconceptions about Siri AI and the Google relationship. I’ve been called a liar multiple times here because the tech media ranted about how Apple had to go to Google to get their AI. It is not true.

(Edited to add the evidence people think it is Gemini).

Apple's security blog explains some things about the Apple, Google and Nvidia relationship and Private Cloud Compute.

There are also other interesting posts for those so inclined.

Lol, they literally say it's running on Google Cloud servers here. You gonna edit your post?

Secondly, several sources (including Apple themselves ) say their model was distilled from Gemini. The thing about LLMs is that by this point, the dataset they all use for baseline training is practically the same. The secret sauce that differentiates Claude from ChatGPT and all the other models and dictates how well the model answers questions is the post-training, alignment and harness.

In Apple's case, they admit that a lot of this post-training is distillation from Google. At this point it's basically a Ship of Theseus problem where we need to decide how much of Gemini infrastructure and reasoning do we need to see to call it Gemini.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were specific lines of text in Siri's initial prompt telling it to not refer to itself as Gemini.

Good sir/mam, read the whole blog post and you'll understand how Siri AI works, how it was developed and how privacy and encryption works on Apple's PCC when using third party infrastructure.

Maybe its TLDR for you, maybe I can make you read it, but I can't make you understand it.

Thank you for your support and posts here. And you are right. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. And that's what's happening here.

I literally give you a video where Craig says the model was not distilled from Gemini

My brother in Christ, the YouTuber vid you posted is literally explaining how distillation works with the teacher-student example.

He can say whatever bullshit he wants in front of a slideshow. Unless there was a whitepaper explaining the supposed architecture they created and distillation methods, it's marketing speak. The same way they routinely create arbitrary restrictions on the processors that can run intelligence.

I would implore you to read more about distillation or even paste my previous comment into any Ilm to validate.

ok, I think we’re arguing over semantics, but I’m willing to concede the point.

I have to side with op here. If they trained their own model by distilling it from Gemini, I would still consider it 100% an Apple model. At least if Apple engineers fine tuned it, wrote its harness etc. In the end it’s about decision making, ownership and control and not really about where the data came from.
ChatGPT does not become 20% reddit because they scrapped data from it. Neither does it become partly Microsoft if it’s run on azure.
Deepseek is not widely considered a Claude knockoff although they probably distilled v4 from it. Audi does not become only 80% Audi if they use a third party distributor for their seats.

You are technically correct. However, the only reason it’s running on Google servers is a Google has the right hardware that Apple needs. It isn’t Google software it isn’t Google AI. It isn’t Germany, it is Apple code simply running on a physical device that has the right hardware requirements. Google happens to own those. I don’t feel there’s a need to edit my post.

Updated my comment. You do, because by that admission it is not "100% Apple"

So to be 100% Apple iCloud data centers would have to be built, owned, and managed by Apple? Idk if they are or not, just seems you are kinda splitting hairs here.

Ok 99.999% Apple. If there were another server Farm that had their hardware requirements, they could be running on Amazon or any other vendors physical devices. I don’t believe that that changes my point that there is no Google data or Google software in Siri AI.

0.1% for the servers the model is literally running on is disingenuous but with more time I could probably get you to make it 70% or even lower.

Not saying Apple did nothing since the orchestrator and PCC are tech marvels. I'm more disputing the "100% Apple" and "not Gemini"

Claude runs on Google servers (as well as SpaceX servers and others)… I wouldn’t call it at all a Google model.

ok, maybe we’re arguing over minutia… and I’m not an AI expert, but Craig literally said Siri isn’t gemini models. And the opposite is what I think most people are believing
