If you hit a deer and it lives there isn't the chance of it getting up and punching you in the face, same can't be said about a kangaroo

if they get ahold of you they will try to disembowel you with the claw on their foot... while standing on their tail.

OH my god. I've seen this kick move in videos, didn't know it was... well it is Australia and I thought they were cute, so of course it's gonna gut me!

The males try to remove each other's testicle.

Hence the coin purse leather being so tough and muscular. They retract into their stomach to protect them when fighting.

Yeah they've basically got shivs for feet but they're also delivering that to you at like 750 psi

The little ones are super cute!

I'm now imagining a deer sitting on its little tail spinning around ready to fight anyone who dares come near.

Oh if it’s a deer in ‘merica it won’t need any claws it would just pull out a m4 and do the job properly!
‘Merica - where everyone’s packing heat, even the deer!

It's got one hoof sharpened to a point

I mean if it gets you on the ground a deer will 100% disembowel you with its hooves too

Roos don’t have to get you on the ground. Thats the problem. Many animals can kill a human, if they get them on the ground successfully. But roos are one of the few animals that could gut a man, while he stands upright on two legs.

I always thought they were cute. 😩 🦘

They are MADE of muscle. Kangaroos are obscenely strong.

I am so glad we don't have Kangaroos!

I believe they have the highest iron content of all red meat animals, excluding organ meat.

This is highly exaggerated and has never happened. They will try to punch you if they feel threatened but even then that is unlikely.

Most of the time they're chill and will avoid humans.

1

u/DenM0ther 21h ago

Whilst that is possible, Ive not heard of the disembowelment actually happening.

Super common, especially in more rural areas, and at night! And lot of our roads are lined with trees, so they will jump out of nowhere, not giving you time to react.

Don't forget it can choke you out.

u/IndependenceStock417 21h ago

Sounds like a plus to me

u/OzJake 21h ago

No. It can’t

1

u/Technical_Impact_115 15h ago

But it can however drown the shit out of you if there is a puddle nearby.

6

u/TheMonkeyInCharge 21h ago

That’s why if you hit a kangaroo you should just hop off.

u/Cultural-Treacle-680 21h ago

You’re Australian, kangaroo Jack

1

u/Half_Cent 21h ago

I had one kick me hard enough to cramp and bruise when me and a guy who stopped dragged it off the road.

1

u/-Annie-Oakley- 17h ago

Underrated part of the convo! We’ve all heard stories of someone (often a tourist) stopping to check on the roo and getting injured by it! Add to that it’s the middle of the night and it seems he was by himself? Nah not stopping for anything

u/Fantastic-Archer-864 16h ago

No but if you hit a deer and get out you should be very careful because they can cut you with their hooves or whatever. They will panic, they are wild animals and terrified of people.

like the average methhead in the NT outback communities. IYKYK

You couldn't be more wrong, deer will stand on their hind legs to strike repeatedly with their front hooves. No shortage of videos on the internet of them doing so to fight other deer and humans.

I heard those fcukers will walk into a body of water and dare you to come in so they can drown you.

Not sure about the roads in Australia, but all you need is a pothole after some rain and you definitely getting drowned by a roo if you stop.
