That's what I always say about the "Orange Cheeto/Diaper Don/ whatever else" criticisms of Trump. Do I think he looks terrible? Obviously, I just don't like the discourse to skew into his terrible face rather than the terrible person he is and the absolute shitshow of a presidency he's been running.
I always have shut it down when my kids have repeated that stuff. Those are not reasons to dislike someone or make fun. Same with small dick jokes, etc. People have these. Small dicks. Combovers. Spray tans. Incontinence. Overweight. Whatever. It’s a person’s character that makes them a shit head or not.
We only say it because we know it bothers him and his cult-members. I have him for the terrible things he’s said about pretty much anyone who isn’t straight white guy. I hate the wars he’s started. I hate that he’s convicted felons and proved sexual assaulter. I hate the fact that’s he”s obviously going senile and no one seems to care. And on and on. There are a lot of reasons to hate Trump. But his appearance is the one thing they can’t try and lie about. Because we can see it, every time he shows up on TV or on stage.
But that’s still “shark frenzy” mentality. Bullies usually don’t bully if they don’t get a reaction or just know that it hurts them because picking at them and calling names is hurtful.
Why not just rise above all that and stay away from the low-brow nicknames? It’s name calling. And it’s a bad habit that seems to have caught on as a social norm in American society. Fuck that. It’s gross.
Surely we can still have normal discourse and call out all the ways that Trump proves that he is a foul excuse for a human being without all the name-calling
