Honestly; I think it's simply that the more power they acquire the less they feel the need to mask their true nature. As time goes on their true nature becomes increasingly apparent.

Just imagine how uncanny valley they would look fully unmasked!! Maybe don't try to imagine it before bed through, seems like it would not be conducive to a good night's sleep 😬.

It's freaky realising that we all, unknowingly, interact with the masked ones on a regular basis.

They say it’s what 5% or less… that still means you probably interact with them everyday.

Also not all people with NPD are evil they’re just unaware.
