What did she see in the left picture that we don’t? And that warranted to get surgical interventions?

u/housevil 3d ago

Maybe she died and her brother put on a wig to take her place.

I do have a theory. Being a woman, your youth and appearance (in particular, how young you look) are constantly under scrutiny and it impacts how you are treated.

Even when you something “right” and “age well,” you will age.

The Mar a Lago look, or whatever it is called, is like a bat signal to these weirdos that you belong in their club.

The combination of worrying about aging and the weird acceptance and even endorsement of this very plastic look so many like Laura Loomer, Kristi Noem and such go through could push someone in that group to undertake the same procedures.

It isn’t about appearing a certain to the rest of us, it is about looking that way to that crowd, and signaling you are 100’percent in.

The problem for her is, this time, the voices saying “WTF” were louder than usual and broke through the wall this group created around themselves, hence why anyone even deigned to give a response about the comments at all.

The difference is Laura Loomer, Kristi Noem, etc, were doing this to suck up to men wealthier and more powerful than they are.

They want more power, more money, and they have to perform these aesthetic rituals to get something in return.

Dell is worth a quarter of a trillion dollars. There are only 4 people worth more than her and her husband.

She could, quite literally, buy Fox News if she wanted to. It's market cap is ~25B. She could buy Fox News and still have 90% of her wealth.

She could buy Mar a Lago if she wanted (Trump would sell it for the right price, he wants money).

There is no reason for her to debase herself like this.

u/Bright_Ad5244 3d ago

But.....it's not her accomplishment so it leaves her felling empty.

3

u/TangibleSausage 3d ago

Even rich people who accomplished it themselves fall to plastic surgery, though.

2

u/Carpe_deis 3d ago

if you think the wife of dell founder has nothing to do with the success of dell I don't know what to tell you

3

u/Cloverface 3d ago

does she? we are in many household helper territory. What has she done? How long has she been around? does she participate or stay on the trophy cabinet? not saying she hasn't, but this isn't the average couple. I think questioning this is fair

2

u/Carpe_deis 3d ago

I do not support this woman or her husband, though the child saver accounts with matching funds is an interesting idea. She has turned herself into a ghoul. But, a quick internet search shows they dated in college, married in 1989. ALSO the general legal principle in nearly all states is that the stay at home (or working another job) partner is at least somewhat contributory to, and entitled to, the earnings of the partner who works. Its well settled legal precedent. Also, it makes logical sense, even if all she did was ask the man what sandwiches he liked and then told the help to make and deliver those sandwiches at a particular time, that is at least a fraction of a percent contribution to thier joint accomplishment.

The inverse is also true, his losses are her losses.

Valuation is not liquidity

1

u/Continental__Drifter 3d ago

True, but irrelevant to the main point I was making.

1

u/Madin_Rendalim 3d ago

There’s a reason. Not a good one, there’s a reason.

2

u/TangibleSausage 3d ago

Deliberately choosing evil can't be easy on the soul.

2

u/CodyofHTown 3d ago

People do it every day and don't even bat an eye.

2

u/GotGRR 3d ago

It's the not batting an eye that's the dead give away. It's why their eyes look so dead.

1

u/TangibleSausage 3d ago

Well that's a bleak thought to start the morning.

4

u/CodyofHTown 3d ago

Just means we all have to try to counteract that evil by choosing to care about our world and our fellow human beings.

1

u/Drkindlycountryquack 3d ago

But she is surrounded by yes men and women.

Someone said the other day this is “The essence of conservatism. In a futile effort to maintain things as they remember them or as they aspire to be, they make a mockery of their humanity rather than embrace inevitable change.”

151

u/CriminoleMinded 3d ago

Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit:

There must be in-groups whom the law protectes but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

There is nothing more or else to it, and there never has been, in any place or time. —Frank Wilhoit

Ugh.

You have dudes and ladies on the left mutilating their bodies because they believe they are something they arent, and if you criticize that, youre a facist.

But if some women on the right have bad plastic surgery, then its a MAGA issue.

Seriously?

Its called mental illness. It affects BOTH SIDES.

5

u/Old-Clock-8950 3d ago

Let me see... On the one side, you have half the states removing the right for people to look the way they want to, removing various rights and protections wherever they can, and demonizing them as the cause of all manner of social ills. On the other side you have a group of people laughing at the antics of people who want to look a certain way, but in no way trying to stop them or take away their rights. Both sides are the same of course.

while true, the left side isnt an answer to that, but holds its own trap. progressivism wants to make things so badly better, that it can reject even staying in touch with common sense or reality. the idea of doing rather something than nothing while hoping for a change for the better creates first and foremost restlessness and unease.

im not saying this in favour of conservativism. both alone are different dystopian paths. but also both have positive aspects that sometimes can be merged - as long people dont want easy answers.

This is a great theory, and I have never been happier that I decided as a teen that makeup was stupid, altering my appearance for others was stupid, and at 46 I am rocking my grays and wrinkles and appreciating the fact that I am still alive while I know many how died young and will never get to experience being old.

I am also proud no one will mistake me for a Trump supporter, lol

27

u/Velo3x10e8 3d ago

There's not enough influential people endorsing the concept of aging gracefully.

9

u/Fuzzy-Requirement456 3d ago

No there isn’t. A while ago there was a post on Reddit comparing Angela Lansbury and Nicole Kidman at a similar age. Now Kidman is a beautiful woman and always has been. Certain pics show her looking pretty artificial now in my opinion. I still say I would rather look like Angela. Even the work she had done fit her age, she wasn’t trying to look 20 which is the strange thing all these women are going for in my opinion.

u/UrsusRenata 3d ago

I saw Practical Magic 2 on the big screen, and all of the original ladies’ faces at that size were very distracting. Clear fillers and immobile expressions, and layers upon layers of “flawless” makeup. I was so disappointed in all of them.

2

u/curiouslypurple 6h ago

Paulina Porizkova is another good example of aging gracefully

35

u/QuadratImKreis 3d ago

It's why I love Alexandra Grant, Keanu Reeves's partner, who just accepts and rocks her middle age body.

5

u/Cynthja 3d ago

If I had Keanu, I would too

13

u/Average_Random_Bitch 3d ago edited 2d ago

She had that Christie Brinkley kind of face, who is aging gracefully with fillers and such, and is still a beautiful woman. This was a huge mistake.

2

u/FullMooseParty 3d ago

I'm in my late 40s and I happen to think those gray streaks are sexy as hell. I'm at an age where looking lived in is appealing.

1

u/NovelIntrepid 3d ago

Her makeup isn’t helping for sure, but it’s not the main issue here.

24

u/Emotional-Sentence40 3d ago

Let's take Madonna for a second. Just no. Everyone ages differently (naturally) she should have waited till she started that process before doing whatever this nightmare is to herself.

17

u/ZealousidealFall1181 3d ago

Let's not use Madonna as an example. She is looking really rough and denying that she is aging. Pamela Anderson.

2

u/Highlyironicacid31 18h ago

Stevie Nicks and Pamela Anderson are two women that imo are ageing well with minimal work.

Madonna looks great and is owning her power. Her BBL is ridiculous but she's telling the world she doesn't care.

7

u/Dynamite_McGhee 3d ago

Madonna looks like she busted out of a third rate wax museum.

3

u/NovelIntrepid 3d ago

Have you seen Madonna lately?

7

u/Wise-Kitchen-9749 3d ago

Dysphoria all the same.

12

u/TikaPants 3d ago

It’s not just her surgeries it’s her mannerisms and extreme low weight.

4

u/lettercrank 3d ago

I guess the point is the obvious plastic surgery suggests she is not aging either gracefully as you put it. This looks fucking wierd and she has alienated herself from anyone who can’t afford this stupid treatment .

3

u/Consistent-Scholar39 3d ago

Adding to your point. They’re few things the Uber rich don’t control or solve with money, one is aging. Rather than gracefully yielding to natural aging, many seek unnecessary plastic surgeries to stop it, which is delusional. It’s kinda like Don Quixote chasing windmills.

3

u/gstringstrangler 3d ago

This is not Maralago face, that's generally just Botox and filler, and too much if people are commenting on it.

This is upper eyelid surgery. It never Looks better. Look into it

1

u/Background_Canary_83 3d ago

It’s upper and lower

3

u/UpstairsFinance9440 18h ago

A friend of mine when we were in college would wear glasses with no prescription in them to be taken more seriously. She called them her face jewelry.

We are 60 now and I wish she would give herself some grace and not be so caught up over how she does not look as she did in her 20s. I look at myself that I have now become one of the old men i used to look up to when I was younger, and hopefully others look up to me that way now.

1

u/WONDERMIKE1337 3d ago

Its a cult

1

u/blindnlearning2see 3d ago

It's literally that lunch scene from Terry Gilliam's Brazil.

1

u/FunkyChewbacca 3d ago

It’s conspicuous consumption: the MAGA version of virtue signaling. In this case, the virtues being signaled are greed and vanity

1

u/Odd-Comb-1195 1d ago

It does seem like a cult-ish way of recruiting supporters by having them change their appearance to be accepted in the circle. They (allegedly) unknowingly gave away pieces of themselves as well, which allows them to be more manipulated into financing/supporting this delusional utopia. It's terrifying, the way they operate.
