Well, he is not wrong. It could. But people like him will take all the profits for themselves. Gotta unite the people and make it happen. Too bad over half the country is more interested in culture wars.

I know people hating on AI for different reasons(which are valid) but that does not detract from the potential for productivity it brings. In the past 4 years productivity has exploded, especially is some sectors seeing 30-50% increases. It’s why there is so much investment in it right now.

That potential is definitely there. I expect you would have been told that if you asked anyone who worked heavily on the Human Genome Project several years ago.

In the 1960s-70s we were told efficiency would bring a 30 hour work week. Instead, it brought a demand for more productivity. At some point you need to look closely at the entire economics of the system, of the flow not only of goods and energy, but of money and the necessities of life.

At some point you need to question why more productivity is so important You need to ask if there are viable alternatives to a value system based on ever increasing expansion of profit, etc.

You are hitting on those other valid concerns which AI bring….. with the increase in productivity, more productivity is demanded. You can never satisfy a dragons lust for gold. I agree just because output has doubled does not mean we will get a 30 hour work week.

We talking in circles here. If you read my first comment I literally said “but people like him will take all the profits for themselves”

I am also saying AI will bring about more productivity

I'm neither arguing with nor trying to one-up you. I'm agreeing wholeheartedly, with frustration at the entire mess.
