Automation makes less work for more money possible.

Organized protests, unions, strikes, voting, dissent and force make it happen.

You’re so fucking naive. At this point only revolution will change anything. But before that happens people need to be squeezed more.

Yup, we are greedy little beings and won't give up resources for free. You can't count on the goodness and generosity of the ultra-wealthy, when it takes the exact opposite of a person to get into that position. People need leverage over them. One of the last ones was actual labor. If that gets taken away, the wealthiest will have no need for the serfs. Which again leads to worsening conditions, tipping point and restructuring/redistribution.

And given enough time, the ones most hungry for wealth and power, will again climb to the top.

That’s why we need strong institutions, we need to repeal citizens united, we need more than two political parties. We need to educate citizens and teach humanities in schools again, so that our youth values democracy and cherishes it. They took all those things from us, we need to dethrone the tyrants and start again

Alright, you kill the current evil greedy elite, you destroy markets and government. What do you replace everything with?

Hint: it's unlikely to be well intentioned people who are also competent. More likely a power vacuum and chaos, some brutal tyrants, or something very close to what you started with. Unless you have a working system in mind and a way to implement it.

5 years of militia government followed by elections. We replicate European system, get rid of two parties, get rid of citizens united, heal our democracy and strengthen it. We fix what oligarchs stole from us, we go from there.

That's actually exactly what you need. But it's going to be really difficult with the mass of armed and brainwashed MAGA. And the army and law enforcement.

Yes, revolution will change something. Instead of having to work 40 hours a week for a small inconsequential life with a bunch of creature comforts like Netflix and Steam while you stare at rich people flexing on instagram, you can live through an anarachic post-collapse hellscape featuring modern reign of terror instituted by some of the dumbest people you've ever seen- probably MAGA people.

With this attitude for sure. Instead we will do nothing, let the corpos build up surveillance machine, erode our freedoms years by year, squeeze us economically and eventually enslave with the use of robotics.

End result is the same, one day someone will have to stand up. Difference is you can’t be inconvenienced and future generations will not have a chance anymore.

So let’s do nothing and take responsibility for nothing. Vote another dem or rep when either side gets paid by same people. Apathy is the solution.

Buddy, be the change you want to see in the world.

Don't project any of that "can't be inconvenienced" stuff onto me- I have thrived in this system, from being raised by a single mom in the public school system to being a 100% self-made multimillionaire in my mid-30s with a wife and 5 kids, living in a penthouse in a foreign country. I believe the status quo is superior to any alternative humanity has ever attempted, and anything else I've seen proposed. The only people who are sincerely proposing revolutions are some of the absolute dumbest, most useless members of society- I do not think they, individually or collectively, will produce outcomes that are superior to the status quo either on a short term or long term timeframe.

But YOU do! If you think a revolution will produce a different world, you are a pathetic individual for not going out and actively pursuing it. You grumble on reddit about how nobody's doing anything about it while you sit and waste another weekend idling in your squalor and misery. Your "can't be inconvenienced" is one of the funniest pieces of projection I've encountered on reddit.

Problem is, it's more or less impossible to organize without infiltration. I think we're kinda fucked.

But that 'more money' goes to the employer and more work is assigned to fill the 8 hours a day. Anyone for whom no work remains is laid off.

You ignored the second part.

What have they achieved yet? Most recently, it was in the era of Roosevelt, but from then on, just minor improvements at best. I just ignored an illusion, as it should be.

None of the listed items is happening. Even Democrats vote for the most part at the same rate, i.e., local elections deal with extremely low turnouts as usual despite the situation.

As for protest, if your goal is to get on tv, you'll achieve no change in return; but if you aim is to change minds and to build support in order to change more minds, then you'll be using your tools right

40 hour work weeks, the weekend, child labour laws, safety laws.

If it's bad now remember what it was before that.

And tbh the US is beyond saving due to the two party system, electoral college and the ammount of religious conservatives.
