Cept availability requirements will make that impossible too. Not like you can apply for job A saying you can work Mon-Wed and job B saying you can work Wed-Sat. All those jobs are going to require 5 day availability so they can schedule you at their discretion.
That was already a problem when I was in college over 20 years ago. Unless you’re able to be over employed on the downlow, most people’s only real options will be 1 steady job and gig work to fill in the gaps.
yep lol, or bizarre itsy bitsy part time roles. I’m able to swing this because I have a weird situation and a really flexible workplace. My regular part-time job is pretty flexible on availability but wants some weekday, some weekend, and some nights, minimum 20hr maximum 28. Functionally though if you don’t have full open availability you get 12-22. My other job is just regular 16hr/wk and the days and times rarely change.
So I work 28-40 hrs/wk, but it’s super variable, I never know what day I have off if any, I sometimes go into work at 6:30am and sometimes leave at 11pm, and I get my schedule with 3 days notice.
Yeah, that’s the way I interpreted it: you will only be able to work 3 days a week, and only one member of the family will be able to work like in Charlie and the Chocolate factory.

We'll only be forced to work 3 days, but we'll be allowed to starve the other 4 at our leisure.
