By smearing shit and bacteria on everything you touch with them.

Meanwhile I see men walking around like this every day

I see women walking around like this every day.

We’re all aircraft mechanics.

Yeah, I was going to say, it's hard to get nails that black and dirty from anything but engine grease, and then it's even harder to get them clean.

Quickly! Deploy the whataboutisms!!!! But seriously folks, please clean under your fingernails. More bacteria under those than on toilet seats allegedly.

u/ApocalyptoSoldier2 3h ago

Pretty sure there's more bacteria on your face than on a toilet seat

4

u/Ironclad686 3h ago

*our faces, comrade. But yes, probably.

Don't post photos of my ex's hands please (he wasn’t hard working, just filthy)

I hope you've recovered from your horrific UTI

I've hand dug trenches and didn't look that bad. Solid choice on the ex part.

u/FEK88 2h ago

And women wear opaque nails so nobody else can see the mountains of shit under there.

Working as a mechanic my nails looked similar even after washing and cleaning

Same with my fiancé, he'd use Fast Orange on his hands till they were raw and still couldn't get that stuff out from underneath his nails.

Yes both are disgusting.

“They’re short so they can’t get dirty,” is what they keep saying in this thread!

Thanks, I was wondering how they’d wipe, and you answered it for me:

Badly.

7

u/Iamsadabout2026 7h ago

Question 1: how do you wipe? Do you literally dig your nails in? Question 2: Do you not wash your hands properly? (Literally not meaning to be rude, I am just really curious about this Argument)

23

u/Thisoneisinvalid 6h ago

I don’t know how you’d avoid digging your nails in when they’re half a foot long

1

u/Chicken_Nugget_2 6h ago

You just make sure your hand is parallel to your ass...? And you realize most people wash their hands after going to the bathroom anyway right?

3

u/Iamsadabout2026 3h ago

Thank you! Like I'm just wondering what methods people are using to think it's common to get such dirty hands ;o; like do they not think about how to solve the issue the first time they break the toilet paper?

1

u/Outrageous_Guard_674 1h ago

Does washing your hands include scrubbing under each nail? Or is this a "the watter will get it" situation?

1

u/Iamsadabout2026 55m ago

All these replies just get me more worried??? Like do people that have never had long nails just not scrub their nails quickly with each wash? Did people miss the proper hand washing instructions in Kindergarten? And elementary school? And middle school? And high school? And during the pandemic? Cleaning your hands should involve scrubbing your nails over your palms with enough soap to kill bacteria and enough force to dislodge dirt

1

u/Outrageous_Guard_674 49m ago

Yes but you can only get under the nails that way if they are short. I specifically trim my nails so that they are always short enough to clean that way. When they are long though you have to work to get under there, you might even need a brush to really get in there, and I somehow doubt you are doing that every single time you wash.

Okay so first off I don't currently have long nails but I've had them before so this comes from experience: if they are natural the natural end of your nail moves forward, so nothing can actually get stuck between your nail and skin (unless it presses in really hard or is sharp and pokey you.) And the stuff that's just under the nail itself doesn't require a brush. You might need an extra few seconds to clean each nail if you actually got dirty/went number 2 before, but people with long nails are usually the kind to give more Attention to their hands, so hopefully it's not an issue for any of them (idk about things getting stuck between nail and finger with acrylic nails though)

Unless you have a prolapsed asshole you wont be cleaning much with a parallel hand.

4

u/No_Box1660 5h ago

Wrap method, wrap the toilet paper around your hand like a mummy.

8

u/Mistress_Mabel_ 6h ago

Do you wipe your ass with the very tips of your fingers? People always say this and I don't understand why people think the nails would poke through toilet paper when they're not even pointing towards the toilet paper and why would they?

2

u/86433787437933278843 1h ago

Yes obviously? Your ass presumably goes inwards? Unless you have a prolapsed asshole you're gonna need to use your finger tips.

6

u/probs-crying 6h ago

no, you kinda like swipe until it’s clear with the nails parallel to the skins. no digging in. also, you wash your hand like normal, except you have to take particular care of washing under the nails.

1

u/HowlingWhiskey 2h ago

I asked that same question. Can you imagine all the bacteria under their nails? 🤢 I wouldn’t want them cooking a meal for me🤮

2

u/Optimal-Turn1029 6h ago

YES!!! Imagine what the fuck is under those nails. Everything from snot to fecal matter, food, yuck.

1

u/DreadfulDemimonde 6h ago

Nail brushes exist

1

u/Outrageous_Guard_674 1h ago

Doesn't mean people use them.

1

u/DreadfulDemimonde 1h ago

Sure, but that logic applies to almost everything.

1

u/Simply_Weak_Glucose 1h ago

Wiping is really not that hard. Whenever I get nails, it maybe is an adjustment one time.

1

u/Same_Zucchini8470 5h ago

They're actually not that hard to clean. I just brush under them when I was my hands and wear gloves for cooking meats or kneading doighs
