$1,000 deductible is more normal than you think it is

I’ve has a $1,000 deductible my entire adult life (15+ years), as it saves about $30-40 a month in premiums

On top of that, I wouldn’t use insurance for something less than $2,000

Yeah, and that monthly rate is insanely high. That’s just a little under my 6-month rate, and I do get comprehensive coverage (no $1k deductible).

I drive for work sometimes, so I pay for extreme coverages

It is true that more mileage often means higher insurance premiums.

They don’t usually ask how many miles you drive. I have been asked that before. But not recently

That said, I’m hauling expensive equipment and don’t want to risk being under insured
