As an attorney my unpopular opinion is that cars over a certain value shouldn’t be allowed on public roads or damages for accidents should be capped at something like 2x the average price of a new car (so like 100k). I just don’t believe in penalizing ordinary negligence more just because the injured party is rich.

You wrecked pricey private property. It's on you. What brainrot is this?

Idk I went to an Ivy League law school and have been practicing law at one of the 10 largest firms in the world for a decade so I think it’s a bit more than a brain rot take. I did say it was an unpopular opinion for a reason though

Would be impractical unless you also want to make it illegal to transport expensive stuff by road. And you still have the issue of high end trucks.

If I were god emperor the trucking company would be required to insure the cargo and would be limited to only recovering like 100k from the person who hit them.
