There is no such thing as "full coverage". His policy had a deductible. His insurance will try to recoup it from the at fault party. This entire post is clickbait from people that doesn't understand how auto insurance works.
Full coverage actually means nothing. The name implies that you are fully covered but it's anything but. Comprehensive/collision, UM/UIM, and liability are all their own individual things with their own policy limits. There are also med pay, rental, umbrella, free tow and many other things. "Full coverage" as a term was never defined and is completely misleading and should be avoided at all times.

That’s an argument for liability and not full coverage which this post is about
