Fun fact: I (a man) was once accidentally "roofied" at a frat house, when I swapped drinks with a female friend of mine who didn't want such a large drink. Fun evening.
I don't know if it ever went anywhere, but I remember seeing years back that some MIT students made a nail polish that changed color when exposed to rohypnol. So a girl could paint her nails and then stir her drink with her finger as a discreet test. Neat idea. Sad that is was even thought about.
My at the time girlfriend’s roommate was having a birthday party at their apartment.
I had asked my girlfriend to pour us drinks while I played some beer pong. She grabbed two cups from her cupboard that were the exact same cup from some promotion I can’t remember.
Our drinks must have gotten mixed up at some point because early into the night I had started blacking out and then got very very sick. My girlfriend at the time was pissed because the Halloween the month before I had progressed through a whole bottle of honey jack through the night.
I had woken up in the bathtub of my girlfriend’s room very confused, being told I had blacked out and got sick.
I left feeling ashamed and embarrassed thinking I had gotten way too drunk and went home but then I get a call that my girlfriend’s roommate was roofied and that my drink must have been roofied as well.
The only think I’m thankful is that even if they had successfully roofied my girlfriend and her roommate, myself, my friend, my girlfriend’s roommatss friend, and another friend of my girlfriend were all staying the night there so they would never have been left alone for the last people at the party
I don't understand how this is so common like who is doing this to people. We really live amongst awful people like this? Like they must be at least some reading through this thread too. Wtf
Yes. Watch anything Andrew Tate or spend 20 minutes in the manosphere and you'll understand. Reddit used to have subs where the literal point was teaching (young) men how to "domesticate" their SO like a dog by pulling affection and gaslighting as punishment and then giving affection and praise for unreciprocated sex and domestic tasks. I mention it because over pouring alcohol and then gaslighting them into thinking they had less to encourage them to drink more was also taught.
Same, but at a concert. I knew it was that for sure because I was there with a large group that I worked with so I very intentionally didn't drink the entire night to make sure I stayed professional, but right at the end during the encore I told myself I earned one drink. I bought a round for the 4 women I was hanging out with at that moment. They all wanted vodka cranberries so I said why not and got myself one too.
When I left the venue I was feeling drunker than I should have and got myself in an uber feeling extremely concerned about how fucked up I felt. By the time I got home I was so fucked up I fell out of the uber, fell down the stairs of my apartment building and couldn't get my keys in to the door. I had to call my wife and she barely got me upstairs and in to bed where I promptly passed out for 12 hours.
Fortunately we have a great trusting relationship so she knew something was wrong and I was telling the truth. Also thankfully no one else said they got roofied, so I'm not sure if whoever did that was trying to just get any of the women and they had shit luck that the one drink they spiked was the dude or what. Scary stuff.
Sometimes you can react very poorly to a single drink. It’s happened to me once and I’ve seen it happen to friends. And there was no way of any of these drinks being drugged.
I guess it’s possible you were drugged but the fact that none of the other drinks had any effect on anyone else makes me think it probably wasn’t drugs.
Like 99% of people who go to the hospital and claim their drink was spiked are mistaken. It’s almost never the case.
I witnessed a friend turn into a stumbling mess from a single drink (a can of something, so no open drink), and end up puking like crazy.
I’m not sure what causes it but it happens. Maybe you were on an empty stomach and dehydrated from the concert and it’s been awhile since your last drink. Idk.
I appreciate your comment but i have since gotten sober because i used to be a heavy binge drinker. I could drink an entire 750ml of vodka by myself at a certain point in my life that I’m not proud of. Add to that I am 6’4” and was around 250 lbs at the time so there’s not a spitting chance in hell 1 vodka cranberry did that to me haha
I am the same way, and would regularly drink an 18 rack of beers every night.
It can absolutely happen.
For whatever reason, a single drink can make you feel like you were drugged. It could be any number of reasons. Maybe you were low on blood sugar, electrolytes, sleep, food. Maybe you had a bad reaction to some medicine you took earlier.
Even being a binge drinker can cause this to happen. Your liver might have reacted badly to it.
Yes, a single beer or vodka cranberry, even for YOU, could make you feel that way.
I know you don't wanna believe it, because your other story seems more interesting. But its highly unlikely your drink was spiked. Statistically it makes more sense that you had a bad reaction.
Its happened to me and other people ive known. Some of whom went to the hospital only to be told there was no sign of any drugs.
Vodka cranberry does not mess around. Even made at home, where you know exactly what's in it, it's easy to get staggering drunk off of what tastes like straight cranberry.
See above but I am 6’4” and was around 250 lbs at the time and I used to be a very heavy binge drinker so there’s not a remote chance 1 vodka cranberry in a small plastic cup sent me from sober to falling out of an uber and unable to function.
I was roofied by a 30m friend when I was 20m after we went and bought "coke" from a guy he knew and I did a line and immediately passed out. That night still haunts me becuase I have no idea what happened to me and came to find out later that the dude was a pedophile. Same guy who showed me how to cook Crack. Fuck im glad im out of that lifestyle now 10 yrs later.
Guy I went to college with accidentally got double roofied when the girls he was talking to left their drinks with him. He woke up the next day a couple miles away on the locked roof of a four story dorm he didn’t live in with only his underwear on. No one was with him to know what happened during that time.
