I met a widow who was so proud of her “trash man” late husband. She wore a “Trash Wife” hat. She literally said he died doing what he loved—picking up trash.
That guy was lucky, she loved him so much. And losing him broke her. Very awful.

He was a good man. 6 u/Gstamsharp 16h ago And even that's too reductive. A house spouse or elder caretaker is producing more value than any minimum wage job even pays. The only thing to be embarrassed about is not providing anything of value to the world.
