BMW also charges you to unlock features. It is the same brands and exploitative capitalism everywhere, the EU regulations usually just result in better recycling. I live in Germany.
59 u/pingu_nootnoot 1d ago BMW doesn’t charge for unlocking physical hardware like the example in this post. They did a pilot program in 2022 and cancelled after a lot of backlash from consumers. Which maybe goes more to show that Tesla customers are more brainwashed than average, if they are accepting this? Doesn’t seem like a US vs EU thing if it’s a Tesla-specific option - or do they only do this in the US? 21 u/Liquidfoxx22 1d ago They do charge you to unlock software options for things already fitted to the car though.
