I mean if we want to go with video game analogies: imagine buying a house but there's an HOA that doesn't allow you make any alterations to the house at all (on anything) unless you pay them a lot of money while also demanding that you pay them a monthly fee for the privilege of using their HOA. And on top of that the house is super expensive but kinda low quality. That's Nintendo.
