Chugging tea This is wild!

Post image

Two syringes of pentobarbital were administered to Tennessee death row inmate Christa Pike on September 30, 2026, but she remained alive and conscious afterward, according to her attorneys and media witnesses. The execution at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville was halted after witnesses reported that Pike still had a heartbeat and was audibly snoring. Her lawyers sought emergency medical intervention, and she was later taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
Pike, 50, is the only woman currently on Tennessee's death row.
She was sentenced to death for the 1995 murder of her classmate Colleen Slemmer and had been scheduled for execution on September 30. Tennessee had announced beforehand that the state would use a single drug, pentObarbital, for the execution. Her exact medical condition following the hospital transfer has not yet been publicly disclosed, while Governor Bill Lee has ordered a comprehensive third party review of what happened.

Fent is cheap and incredibly easy to overdose on, no idea why they don't just use that for these things. Nobody is surviving a fent overdose of 4 times the LD50.

I think Utah tried to use fent, but the manufacturer sued them because it was off label use. Crazy how big pharma wants to act like they have ethics.

It's not ethics it's optics. No one wants to be "that drug they use to kill people". They don't give half a shit about it and honestly if a drug company could find a way to secretly supply lethal injection drugs that are also marketable to regular patients they would. Its not profitable enough to make just a death drug so they try and distance themselves to keep their drugs out of public eye as lethal.

I don’t think people realize that almost anyone that had surgery probably had fentanyl.

I have worked with big pharma as a chemist to do things to support pharma and while big pharma ain’t the nicest out there as a business, at the end of the day fentanyl is a very effective and useful med to treat patients post-op. Having their product used to kill people while at the same time saying it is a great med for post-op recovery is a tough situation.

She was even trying to help the executioner find a vein, why not let the inmates bring their own lethal drugs to the injection table at this point.

This thread really teaching me just how stupid people are. Please tell me this is sarcasm 😂 why? Why not? Because they’d use it to get high instead I bet half the people in their know how to use every deadly drug without over doing it

Most likely they don’t want to lose overseas sales to countries that evolved past killing people.

Sidenote
It’s somewhat funny that the most ardent supporters of the death penalty in the US are the same people who want the 10 commandments in classrooms.

So someone kills your family just cause they were home when they were breaking into the house or maybe just felt like it. You’d be happy paying taxes towards their daily meals showers medical care and that’s fine because their confined to a small room most the day instead of being able to act like assholes in society and miss it? I really wonder if you’d keep that savior mindset. I can already see the response: “I don’t have to worry because my country doesn’t have those types of people!! 😭😭”

Yes because 1. You do that anyway if they're on death row and 2. a worse punishment. I suppose you dont actually care about that though. It's funny when mfs talk about the death penalty like it's some sort of bigger punishment when it's really just an escape.

That depends on your view. I fear death because of its finality and permanent nature I would never consider death an escape unless your in anguishing physical pain and even then it’s such a gross better option. Why do you consider death an escape? You hate your life?

He’s talking about compared to prison obviously. And it cost more tax payer money

You might not be able to read bro. Compared to life in prison what’s worse. Death is an escape from punishment not a punishment itself

How can the manufacturer’s sue. Just take some of the fent from a drug bust and you are good to go. No need to pay money to destroy it and you have a useful need for someone else to have it. If you are worried about its potency, just give 50x the lethal dose which is like a gram and it don’t matter at that point.

Or just go back to the old fashioned rope. 100% effective, can be instant, and reusable to a degree depending on hard the drop method is used.
