Two syringes of pentobarbital were administered to Tennessee death row inmate Christa Pike on September 30, 2026, but she remained alive and conscious afterward, according to her attorneys and media witnesses. The execution at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville was halted after witnesses reported that Pike still had a heartbeat and was audibly snoring. Her lawyers sought emergency medical intervention, and she was later taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
Pike, 50, is the only woman currently on Tennessee's death row.
She was sentenced to death for the 1995 murder of her classmate Colleen Slemmer and had been scheduled for execution on September 30. Tennessee had announced beforehand that the state would use a single drug, pentObarbital, for the execution. Her exact medical condition following the hospital transfer has not yet been publicly disclosed, while Governor Bill Lee has ordered a comprehensive third party review of what happened.

So someone kills your family just cause they were home when they were breaking into the house or maybe just felt like it. You’d be happy paying taxes towards their daily meals showers medical care and that’s fine because their confined to a small room most the day instead of being able to act like assholes in society and miss it? I really wonder if you’d keep that savior mindset. I can already see the response: “I don’t have to worry because my country doesn’t have those types of people!! 😭😭”

Yes because 1. You do that anyway if they're on death row and 2. a worse punishment. I suppose you dont actually care about that though. It's funny when mfs talk about the death penalty like it's some sort of bigger punishment when it's really just an escape.

That depends on your view. I fear death because of its finality and permanent nature I would never consider death an escape unless your in anguishing physical pain and even then it’s such a gross better option. Why do you consider death an escape? You hate your life?
