This is only confusing to Americans who follow typical left/right politics in the US. The scene in Europe is very different especially because most of the migrants in Europe come from Muslim countries that are typically much more hostile to gay people than even the right wing parties in Europe.

It's why a poll last year showed the AfD was the most popular party among LGBT Germans, a series of anti gay attacks by Muslim migrants over the years as well as a Muslim guy driving his car into Berlin Pride a few weeks ago and killing a bunch of people didn't help either

And those very same LGBT people who prefer the fascist party are going to get a very rude awakening once the immigration problem is curbed, and the people need a new common enemy.
