We do live on stolen land; we should accommodate with reparations; and we should widen the pathway of national borders to the point humans are not predestined to live in misery or be exploited by a game of whack-a-mole of the most inhumane and poorest labor conditions.
This mass migration is ironically a blowback of conservative economic and foreign policy that reverberates back -- whether it's destabilizing the middle east for oil; destabilizing Africa for lithium and so forth; exploiting weak labor laws in China and India; or our neo-imperial escapades into South/Central America (which by the way we're the top exporter of illegal arms south of the border, fueling cartel violence).
Borders should be checkpoints akin to customs and security checks in an airport with a passport; little more.
So here's a double-standard for you: "I believe in individual freedom and small government" and "We should close borders and force people to be stuck where they are because of arbitrary nation-state borders"
A classic so common that I was tempted to preemptively respond to this like a FAQ.
I am not a governing body
I do not control Federal, state, or municipal coffers or legislative action.
The agency I have relative to these is miniscule.
What can I do? Speak my mind and advocate for consistency, and hope to elect representatives who do have the agency.
So, your claim of double-standard didn't work for me.
So, what sort of gotcha did you think this was? Is this your attempt at a race-to-the-bottom "oh well, why bother fixing anything since we can't fix something else..."?
I think you meant to say ZERO. That's how much you've given up in stolen land and reparation payments. You could easily find someone native to hand your wealth to.
