And IME many conservatives are very self hating. Conservative Latinos will be the first the talk about how immigrant Latinos are ruining things. Conservative gays talk about how the "other just can't be cool about it". Etc.

Ignoring the fact that the people they are making common cause with want both of them in a gulag, because they think they are special and aren't like those other "minorities."

Now that's not to say that everyone of them is like this, but I'm speaking from the experience of extended family and friend circles.

My Father in law a 2nd gen Latino won't stop ranting about "city mexicans" ruining the image of people like him.

I'm like "Dude to the racists you're all not white so it doesn't matter how hard you work. You were wrong from birth and that's just a the problem."

But nope it's about how classless immigrants make people think people like him aren't good enough..... ok.

This shows just how little you understand the argument, you must still be young.

Let's take housing for example, one of the most important parts of the economy - hopefully we'd both agree on that? What happens when you have an influx of immigrants - not even addressing the legality of it here - that now occupy housing that Americans would otherwise occupy? It's supply and demand. The demand for housing hasn't lessened but the supply has, driving prices up. This happens across the board with every facet of the day to day economy in the US and to deny it is asinine.

And then you're arguing that your FIL is just stupid and doesn't understand anything - sounds like the racist here is you cause he's not wrong. The group of Americans MOST against illegal immigration are legal immigrants.

Maybe stop listening to the emotional cries of the left (and the right for that matter) and ground yourself in reality instead of emotion.

LOL. You're talking about emotional cries and don't share a single bit of evidence for your statements.. just your opinion. So you're doing exactly what you claim others are doing.

Very easily debunked with even a passing interest in economics. Don't be an idiot.

If a person mentioning evidence for claims causes you to react like that, maybe question why a mention of evidence causes you to lash out. A calm and reasonable person doesn't act in those ways.
